The first new bill proposed following the election of the first Landsraad of AH.com was a reintroduction of the Ridiculous Hat bill, originally proposed by Superdude (PPP) in August 2007. If passed, this bill would require all members of AH.com Politics to wear a funny hat while within the Houses of Parliament.
Pkmatrix (YSP) proposed the bill to the Lower House of Parliament on April 14, 2009. Susano (FFF) responded, light-heartedly, that as long as the funny hats were not defined, he would oppose the measure. Deputy Prime Minister LordInsane (E) likewise said: “It should be the prerogative of the individual Members of Parliament what part of their clothing should be silly, in the opinion of this MP. I, for one, have a liking of nightcaps, which admittedly could fall under the 'hats' definition, even though I must oppose any such definition.”
Voting on this bill began on April 15, 2009 and will end on April 22, 2009.
Pkmatrix (YSP) voted AYE.
Deputy Prime Minister LordInsane (E), Prime Minister TheDarkServant (E), VulcanTrekkie45 (YSP), 09camaro (E), and maverick (E) voted NAY.
Susano (FFF), Keenir (E), Ran Exilis (E), Haggis (E), Gladi (E), Demosthenes (E), Opposition Leader Kidblast (YSP), Nekromans (YSP), and Steffen (FFF) did not vote.
Unable to get the votes needed to pass, the Funny Hat bill failed to pass. Its incensed supporters therefore staged the AH.com People's Funny Hat Revolution.
