I like this version but would not have a pink cog. White or Black or even Grey.

Perhaps this looks better? Seems to provide a better contrast.

Ooh, very nice! Looks better than the previous.

Thank you! It might be because of the simpler seal and the reduced amount of color present.

Interesting. Some sort of Greater Sudan or Islamic Ethiopia perhaps or an anti colonial West African superstate.

Less Islamic and more Socialist, but yes, would definitely be anti-colonialist.

Can you describe the issue?

There's only so many overlays that can be placed in the "Custom" folder in the Flag Maker directory before the in-program overlay selection window becomes too full to accept any more; after that, it'll only show what managed to fit within the selection window.

FAUX-EDIT: Waitaminute, I think I might be just stupid - I opened up the program to confirm my assumption... and I found that every overlay is present and accounted for (aside from a couple that were non-functional and thus I removed them from the folder); all 201 functional overlays were right there to begin with, I just can't count properly to save my life.

Cossack State State Flag.png

Possible Flags of a Cossack State if one was established by the Russians.

The bottom flag has the flags of the Don, Kuban, and Terek Cossack Host, and having references to Imperial and Modern Russia it the flag. The Eagle has the coat of arms of the Don host. The Top flag is a combination of the Don Cossack Host flag and the flag of Imperial Russia. Which the top one is inspired by the Austro-Hungarian Flag.

Got some more flags to share today, though this time these ones are a bit special... they're all flags for the mythical Nazi criminal organization known as ODESSA. Hypothesized to be a possible underground escape network for former SS officers fleeing Germany, the existence of ODESSA as an actual organization is rejected by most experts, though the "ratlines" that many Nazis used to escape Europe did exist. That said, ODESSA as a concept is wildly popular in spy thrillers and conspiracy theories, and as such I've taken to making it the boogeyman villain of my alt-history map setting just so I can have a punching bag of an acceptable target.;)

With that context out of the way, onto the flags:

First flag, the main flag of the ODESSA organization as a whole. Let me tell you, getting the word ODESSA spelled out here was a pain to figure out, but that was nothing to how the Black Sun emblem was a bitch-and-a-half to make.

Second flag, is the local branch of ODESSA in the Independent State of Rhodesia. Yes, you heard that right: you know that Rhodesia flag redesign I posted a page back? Why else would it have that vaguely-swastika-shaped symbol on it? Because Nazis, that's why.

Next flag here is for the North African branch of ODESSA, with the emblem here being a recreation of the insignia of the German Afrika Korps, famously led by Erwin Rommel.

This next flag is for the neighboring branch in the Middle East - Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Yemen, etc. Bit more risky to hide out in the Middle East, though, as you're much more likely to be paid a visit by Mossad.

Moving on north a bit, here is the flag for the Iberian branch (i.e. Spain and Portugal). Now historically, Franco and Salazar did both have some role to play in the Nazi ratlines... but in my alt-history setting, Salazar is dead in Brazil and Franco was overthrown by the CNT-FAI after he invaded Portugal... so how exactly the Nazis can have a ratline through a Communist Spain, I don't really have an answer for...

Similarly, here's the flag for the French branch: again, like above, how exactly the Nazis can have a ratline network in a country that's seething for revenge after years of brutal occupation and humiliation, I have no idea. You'd think anybody with a hint of German accent would be lynched by an angry mob of collaborator-hunters... but eh, it's ODESSA; you can't have an implausibly-widespread secret conspiracy without some way for them to stay undetected in hostile territory, right?:p

The last two flags here are for the branches in Brazil and Argentina, respectively - and the most historically-accurate of the whole bunch, being the two locations where several ex-Nazis have been verified to have fled to after the war. Argentina in particular is particularly joked about as being Naziland, given that there's a notable German minority present and that were so many former Nazis caught here. Brazil is here more because I wanted to reference the Millennium Battalion from Hellsing Ultimate.:closedtongue:

So that's all of the flags I have for now! Until next time, when I'll probably have something less controversial than a bunch of Nazi flags.

Only got one new flag tonight, but this one's a special one - it's for Boris Savinkov's Russian State from Kaiserreich!

FOR THE VOZHD!
I really like this. I'm kind of curious to see what the the design would look like if the sword was not diagonal, but rather verticle to appear as though it is a cross.

Two test for a reactionary authoritarian (but not monarchist and not hyper-nationalist) Germany in the interwar era.
Combining the colors of the democratic and the imperial flag, this government probably tries to unite various reactionaries and conservatives under some vague christian and authoritarian ideas.
(Maybe for something similar to Austrofascism but in Germany)
Ideas how to improve these?
