According to Hugo O'Donnell, the 7th Duke of Tetuán, Éamon de Valera raised the idea of an Irish monarchy with his great-grandfather Juan O'Donnell in 1932. I decided to make a flag for the Kingdom of Ireland if the idea had come to fruition. The flag is the Irish Tricolour defaced with the Armorial of O'Donnell.
Get rid of the text. You can put that on an emblem, but it is not good on a fag. Here is my "amature beginners" contribution to this thread.

Could use some critiquing.
So what works, what doesn't work and what would you do to make it better?
Here was my take.
As it happens - I wonder if you're aware of the Emperor's coat of arms as a Stranger Knight of the Garter?

Flag of a Belarusian military junta ruled by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus. Belarus is vehemently opposed to both Russia and NATO, and is considered a rogue state. Since his 2001 coup, Generalissimo Andrei Rakov has become increasingly bold in his actions, and has directly threatened Germany in the past, promising to make them relive 1941 with the roles reversed. They have threatened Russia as well, and do not recognize Russian claims on Kalinnigrad, seeing it as their territory. Unfortunately for everyone, in this universe Belarus refused to cede its stockpiles of Soviet weaponry, and possesses 81 single warhead nuclear missiles capable of targeting any European country. Attempts to communicate with Belarus have failed in the past, including a 2005 summit between President Al Gore and General Rakov.
The flag itself draws inspiration from the "80 Years of the Armed Forces of Belarus" ribbon, and is defaced with the Emblem of the Republic of Belarus. The red star at the top of the emblem is circled in white to make it visible against the red background, although satirists have used its resemblance to the centerpiece of the North Korean flag to draw the obvious "Belarus is becoming North Korea" comparison.
Do you mean: OTL Belarus?Almost like a European North Korea
Flag Interlude #6*
"After initial debate, and a brief period of the reuse of the Rebel Ermy, the newly independent Grand Duchy of New York decided that it would see the creation of a new flag to demonstrate the new age for the colony that had come into being. Numerous designs were submitted, including a tricolor of red, white, and orange, which did eventually become the naval ensign of New York, but for matters of state, the theme that became central was the Ermine Cross. Taking four ermines and placing them together, the cross was meant to echo St. George's Cross from the flag of England, which is present on the Ol' Ermy. Eventually, a bisecting of the flag of white and orange was decided, as a show its dual past as both a loyal colony and rebellious city-state, with an Ermine Cross at the center to unite the two. Often called the Ermy Cross, it has become a defining symbol of New York as a nation, with the Ermine Cross itself commonly called the Yorkish Cross, and stamped on every crate that makes its way through New Amsterdam's harbor."
- The Little Book of Flags, 1889*There's quite a few unnumbered flag interludes, but I do want to recognize them as such.
I can just imagine the headlines...While nothing spectacular, here is the WIP flags of the Caribbean Republic from my TL, a pirate republic that essentially negotiated the protection of its existence and is now the number one source of privateers for European powers.
This here is the War Flag and Privateering flag of the Republic, so that they, and especially others, know that the ships kicking ass and winning the battle for another empire are the Republic's. Black and Blue are taken from piracy and the sea respectively, and the skull and swords is, in a sense, a standardized symbol that is often swapped for more personal emblems.
And here is the civil flag. Same colors, but expanded to be half and half, the two-fold symbolism being for 'freedom on the seas' and for the night meeting the ocean, which holds a connotation of peace as daytime naval operations are still the main means of combat. Fight in the day, drink in the night, that's the Pirate's Life!
