Some incoherent ramblings:
- Albania: Taken from the chief of the OTL coat of arms of the House of Kastrioti of which Skanderbeg is the most prominent member.
- Andorra: Based on OTL flag. ITTL, vertical tri-colors are strongly associated radical republican movements. The horizontal tri-color is preferred by the principality. Colors are tuned to TTL France's and Aragon's colors.
- Aragon: OTL naval jack of the Netherlands in Aragon's colors.
- Avignon: OTL coat of arms as a flag.
- Baden: One of several historical OTL flags.
- Bohemia-Bavaria: Recolored OTL Czech Republic flag. The colors are taken from OTL flags of Bohemia and Bavaria. The triangle is used to place the white below the red and above the blue like the respective OTL flags.
- British Commonwealth: Colors taken from the motto of the anti-clerical, anti-monarchy communist revolution: Every man a priest (purple), every man a king (gold), every man a martyr (red).
- Castile: A darker interpretation of OTL Castilian coat.
- Denmark: OTL. It's already perfect.
- Estonian Volksrepublic: OTL Norwegian tongued swallowtail using the colors of an OTL proposed Estonian Nordic cross flag.
- Finnic Volksrepublic: OTL tongued swallowtail of Finland without the coat of arms.
- France: The Cross of St Martin over the Burgundian Cross. ITTL, the Burgundian Cross uses the colors of the Duchy.
- Genoa: OTL flag.
- Georgia: OTL flag.
- Greece: Taken from the OTL flag of Greek Macedonia. In this flag, the Vergina Sun is presented as the Star of Bethlehem.
- Hamburg: OTL flag.
- Hesse: Simplified from the OTL coat of arms, the Lion of Hesse.
- Hungary: Taken from the coat of arms of the house of Bathory. The flag is often referred to as the (Hungarian) Claws.
- Lithuanian Volksrepublic: OTL Norwegian tongued swallowtail using the colors the flag of the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order.
- Lombardy: Simplified version of the Biscione taken from the coat of arms of Milan.
- Mecklenburg-Brandenburg: Based on upside-down OTL flag of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
- Monaco: An OTL historical flag of Monaco, itself based on the coat of arms.
- Montenegro: Based on a historical OTL flag of Montenegro.
- Norman Isles: Recolored flag of Guernsey. Cross of St Martin with a gold Norman Cross.
- Poland: Taken from the OTL naval jack of Poland and commission pennant of Poland.
- Portugal: Taken from the OTL latter flag of the Kingdom of Portugal. ITTL, monarchies are more closely associated with horizontal bars. The canton uses the OTL cross of the Order of Christ.
- Rome: Square version of the OTL flag.
- Rumelia: Based on inverted OTL flag of Bulgaria. ITTL, purple replaces red in reference to the ERE. The meaning of green is debated. Some claim it alludes to Islam. Others point to the land.
- Russia: OTL short-lived historical flag of Russia using the livery colors of the Romanovs.
- San Marino: OTL historical flag with the coat of arms removed.
- Saxon Volksrepublic: OTL flag of Bremen, the Saxon capitol, recolored with the colors of the Old Saxon Duchy.
- Swedish Volksrepublic: OTL flag of Sweden as a tongued swallowtail.
- Tyrrhenian Commonwealth: The radical republican vertical tri-color in the OTL colors of the Republics of Florence and Siena.
- Romania: The monarchist horizontal tri-color in the OTL colors of Romania.
- Wurttemberg-Hohenzollern: The monarchist horizontal tri-color in the OTL colors of Kingdom of Wurttemberg and the Province of Hohenzollern.
- Zurich: Taken from the OTL coat of arms.
