The resized QBAM, the janky panhandles, the weird, snaky countries, the inexplicable existence of nations in barely-inhabited areas...

The PNG saved as a JPG saved as a PNG...

I do like Mostlystan in the middle east. The golden one comprised mainly of -stan countries. :p

Just a quick question Beedok: Who are germany and japan equivalent to in the real world? If the Americans are the Soviets and vice versa
I guess Germany is sort of France with elements of Poland. They stood for longer. Japan is . . . Japan (and Italy is Italy). The UK and France are sort of Germany together, though neither is quite as Nazi, more just militant populists who are a bit more racist than they were before.

I don't see much of a analogy in here...

This is a much improved, UCS-compliant version of that CSA map I posted a little while ago. If I made any errors on the map, feel free to point them out, I'm new at this.
When Judah P. Benjamin was successfully able to obtain British and French aid for the Confederacy, he turned the tide of the War of Northern Aggression. After capturing Washington D.C and forcing the Union to surrender, the C.S. annexed the Northern States. The Jefferson Plan enslaved all free coloreds in a bid for labor for reconstruction. Over 20,000 people, including Fredrick Douglass and former U.S president Abraham Lincoln fled for British North America. When the Federate government demanded the return of American coloreds, Parliament refused, and relations became chilly with their neighbor to the north.
The Federate government pursued their Manifest Destiny and slowly conquered the Latin American nations over the next fifty years, setting those nations against one another and then swooping in for the kill. The horrors of American slavery, where the government routinely pronounced immigrants slaves, and raided the african coast with impunity, fueled the appeal of socialism, which promised that all people would be equal. Stalin's Soviet Union spearheaded the Entente in the late months of World War 1 andencouraged the adoption of socialist policies in Entente nations, leading to a renewed cold war in the Americas between the C.S and "Red Canada". Supposedly to stop spies crossing the border, but in reality to stop the flow of slaves escaping to freedom in Canada, the Confederacy built fortifications across its northern border. The Cotton Curtain had descended. Meanwhile, in Europe, Germany was reinventing itself under Nazi rule. The Confederate States was partial to the Nazis, but found Hitler's ideas for a final solution wasteful, and cooperation never got farther than a neutrality pact. The CSA participated in the Pacific Theatre, however, and defeated and enslaved Japan after a pre-emptive attack on the Japanese navy. After the Entente finally defeated Germany, they were once again horrified by the CSA. The Confederacy had known about the Final Solution from the beginning, and done nothing, and then used the war as a cover to seek colonies throughout Asia. The newly-formed Summit Nations passed a universal trade embargo with the C.S. Only a few countries even did business with America. The Confederacy's few allies included its puppet regime in Liberia and South Africa. South Africa did not practice slavery , but had racist laws inspired by the "Apartness" doctrine used in Confederate Mexico to segregate the Mexican and White populations. For a while, Confederate president John F. Kennedy looked to be ready to emancipate and rejoin the rest of the world, but his assassination meant the Democrats again seized control of the government. Canada attempted to secure nuclear deterrent, but failed after it bowed to confederate pressure in the Newfoundland missile crisis.
To ease internal unrest, the CSA focused its population's attention outwards to the Middle East. In what it called the First and Second Crusades, the CSA "defended" its territory of Kuwait by conquering Iraq, and installed a friendly regime in Afghanistan. The rest of the middle east have allied themselves with the Anti-American bloc, as squabbles with neighbors seem less important in the face of the Grey Menace. If the CS attempts to invade another Middle Eastern country, the Summit Nations will declare war. The CS is already prepared to breach the Cotton Curtain and march into Canada, and Soviet Forces are massing in Kamchatka to defend the Land of the Free. World War III looks inevitable, and it will be a just war - no matter which side you're on.

Hey Everybody! I've been a longtime lurker on the site but, without further ado, my first map!

Basically the POD is the 1837 Canadian Revolution, resulting in a number of things. The current year of the map is 1937, After the UK-German-Japanese alliance wins the Great War and sets up the League of Nations, which includes the North American Community, set up to keep the continent from tearing itself apart and (mostly) working. Any comments and questions are nice (And I do know this slaughters a lot of butterflies ;) )

Looks great :D
One question, why would France annex their part of Germany instead of spinning it of as a client state?

Well, I looked up the Saar Protectorate, and it looked like France originally intended to annex it, but the other allied powers talked them down. I figured since the USSR had already annexed part of Germany in this TL, no one would be able to complain when France did it as well. Nice map yourself, by the way.

I imagine the CSA would probably divide Mexico up into more states but great job! I always wondered what a world map would look like for that movie.

Well, you learn something new everyday:D

Thanks!

I actually have a version of the map where I divided Mexico into all its constituent states, but then I watched the movie again and I noticed they admitted Mexico as ONE state  Ah well, I was aiming for faithfulness to the movie, even if it doesn't make much sense.

Pariah Progress

On the 1st of January 2000, several nations are warped through the field of time back to an earlier point- 95 years earlier in fact. These nations include the DPRK, PRV, Baathist Iraq and Cuba, all nations under socialist or socialist-influenced governments and ones regarded by many as controversial. Vietnam and Cuba are quite reasonable as they have been undergoing reforms to open up to the world, whereas Korea and Iraq are the polar opposite. How will they cope with this older world? Will they bring socialism to a kick-start in the world? Or will they give in to imperialist ambitions? Find out next time...

Cuba won't have to worry about Spain anymore :p.

Also French Indochina and Japanese Korea aren't long for this world. The ottomans will collapse faster than OTL.

Would PRV just try and liberate its neighbours as sattelites, or would it try annexing them to form an Indochinese Union? Or perhaps it decides to spread further into Siam and beyond?
Given Korea is the fiercely isolationist place under Kim Jong Il, you can tell that the result is not going to be pretty in their treatment of either the backward imperial puppets or their Japanese overlords.
How Saddam is going to deal with the time frame is anyone's guess, but somehow all those Arab lands look tempting...

That Hawai'i-wank... *drool*

It's spelled Hawai'i, BTW. (The comma ideally would be a special Hawaiian thing)
