Burying the Hatchet: A Nintendo/Sega TL

Right, but Olympusat did a HORRIBLE job distributing their channels.....

Maybe it can work IF they make a strict set of rules(the channel doesn't suck, it has to be a widely available channel, etc.)
They Tried but failed sadly, at least they've the right idea for content, i wonder why they failed to take off outside the USA....

Serious Question gaminguy...when Yuji Naka is going to get arrested by Inside trading?

I could see insider trading charges being butterflied away from Yuji Naka's future given that, ITTL, even if he eventually decides to leave Nintendo/Sega at some point he may still have a decently strong career if he still occasionally partners with them.

ON the animax front, Sony needs to have not only Comcast carrying it but also DirecTV and Dish Network. For the anime licensors, locking down Funimation, Viz, ADV, and even 4Kids to send at least one big show every year. For Funi, Yu Yu Hakusho and Full Metal Alchemist. For Viz, Bleach and either Death Note or Inuyasha. For ADV, Full Metal Panic and Neon Genesis Evangelion. For 4Kids, Shaman King and the better cut dub of Yu-Gi-Oh classic.

We can only hope that he doesn't get greedy.

The same would be for Funimation channel/Olympusat. Maybe losing the Bandai licenses make Sony took the Animax initiative more seriously outside Japan and east Asia?

People Joked about Goku BUT ITTL we could genuinely See a Gundam(or Gundams) in smash(ie the robots no the pilots)
I’d be up for that, probably the RX-78-2(or maybe the Wing) also I thought of something interesting, once that is revealed people begin using it as an excuse to open the floodgates for random reveals and ‘leaks’ like what I put below:
MaxPower: have you heard of the new rumour?
J57*: what rumour?
MaxPower: After the Gundam reveal someone brought up this

[note: placeholder for any low quality image of her]
J57*: Whose that?
MaxPower: aside from this name of 日向咲 and キュアブルーム I have no clue
Bl0m: Think it’s something to do with the recent deal between Disney and Toei over getting this other show?
MaxPower: that’s the first time I heard this.

to put it loosely, if a Gundam gets in, then all bets are off and people will start to argue about who should be in Smash until the sun goes down.

Has Valve or Half-Life been discussed here? (Besides Half-Life for GameCube and the launch of Steam being featured)
Steam Launch got their own update, the rest they being a PC developers and now publisher, butterflies would be very minor for them

Will Half-Life 2 get to be on GameCube or the Revolution/Wii? Im certain the latter would receive the Orange Box.
Also whats HL2 like in this timeline? Is it closer to OTL or more like the beta?

Agreed. As cool it would be to have Goku in Smash having him in would open the flood gates of who is capable of getting in. Nobody would seem off limits.

Yeah… Hence why it’s not happened and I’m not sure if it will happen here(even a Gundam has a better alternative in the form of an SRW original)

Story Synopsis
Ever since their last adventure banjo and Kazooie have kept the dastardly Gruntilda Winkybunion as a living mantelpiece in their house, but when Grunty’s head goes mysteriously missing it’s up to the duo to go find their house accessory because not because Grunty might seek revenge again but because she complimented the fireplace quite nicely.
To nobody’s surprise Gruntilda is once again planning her revenge on the duo. This time sporting a robotic body with her head in a jar.
The game ends with Gruntilda once again mounted on Banjo’s fireplace.
The 100% end adds an extra scene where Klungo is taking orders from a mysterious new foe.

Gameplay
Expanding on some of Banjo – Tooie’s gameplay mechanics, Banjo and Kazooie can now freely separate without using a special pad and can switch on the fly. This leads to new situations where the player has to split up the duo and use their solo abilities in tandem to solve a large puzzle. Enemies will only attack the character currently under the players control while the uncontrolled character sits motionless and un-movable. (This can lead to the player being able to wall clip in certain spots.) Breegull Blaster can also freely be used anywhere and alters Banjo & Kazooie’s movement to that of a third person shooter.
The new gameplay element for Banjo-Cubie is Gruntilda actively attempting to stop Banjo & Kazooie. Known by the instruction manual as “Gruntilda’s Meddling.” Unfortunately, because Grunty’s AI was simply too complex and the initial plan of having her go one on one with the duo had to be scrapped. Gruntilda now simply alters the game world in timed sequences. Making a remark as she does. Mumbo is back and provides this games transformations in his Skull Hut. Humba Wumba also returns having a completely new function. Humba Wumba now offers to counter Grunty’s meddling in exchange for new Rainbow Feathers. Rainbow Feathers are a rare but renewable collectible. Although they’re renewable each Rainbow Feather has a unique identifier tag to keep track if it’s been collected meaning they cannot be endlessly farmed and have to be spent before reappearing. Bottles serves as the games tutorial and helps Banjo & Kazooie remember their moves from previous games. (Though this can be skipped.) Jamjars also reappears to teach Banjo & Kazooie new moves once again and explain that the duo can now split up without a special pad.
The Worlds are more like the first Banjo Kazooie being separate individual worlds connected by a single hub world, instead of the massive connected world seen in Tooie. This was due to world concepts getting too big so each world is separated to make traveling less tedious and although there is a set path that world should be completed in nothing is stopping a player from opening the later worlds should they have enough Jiggies.

Worlds
Spiral Mountain
: The standard tutorial world from previous games but with a fresh visual upgrade The music returns to an upbeat tempo with a new remix by Grant Kirkhope.

Gruntilda’s New Secret Hideout: Guntilda just happen to have a backup hideout not far from Spiral Mountain that serves as the game’s hubworld. Despite being “Secret,” the entrance rather humorously has “GRUNTILDA WINKYBUNION’S NEW TOP SECRET HIDEOUT!” in big bright neon letters.

Nutty Acres: A typical grassy world. Nut plants of all kinds can be found here and two rivaling ant colonies fight and compete for the large field of nuts. Mumbo’s Hut can be found here and he’ll transform Banjo into a Spider. The spider transformation can climb walls and has a web attack that ensnares enemies and simply run into a webbed enemy to eat them. It is the only level that Gruntilda doesn’t meddle in. (Not counting Spiral Mountain and Gruntilda’s New Hideout.)

Tiny Toy Town: A Christmas themed world consisting of a giant cozy Christmas themes room with a giant Christmas tree with giant presents and toys scattered around. Every half-hour Gruntilda randomly rearranges the layout of the giant toys on the floor. (Sometimes taking Banjo & Kazooie along for the ride.) Although it’s more of an annoyance than anything. Humba Wumba’s Wigwam can be found here. She will offer to disable Grunty’s magic for a whole hour in exchange for 5 Rainbow Feathers.

CubeGame: The exaggerated insides of a Nintendo GameCube. Similar to the “LOGBOX 720” world seen in OTL Nuts & Bolts. Gruntilda causes electric surges in certain areas. While this is meant to bar entrance from certain areas Banjo & Kazooie can use Wonderwing to go through it though this in now an option when the duo are separated. Mumbo’s Hut appears in this world and Mumbo will transform Banjo into an electronic capacitor, this is used to solve puzzles found throughout the world. The electronic capacitor transformation has an electric shock attack. Humba Wumba’s Wigwam can be found here. She will offer to prevent electrical surges for a whole hour in exchange for 7 Rainbow Feathers.

Sombrero Sands: A desert level inspired by Mexican culture. Gruntilda whips up a sandstorm that slowly gets worse. Not only does this sandstorm cover the screen but it also blows the player in a random direction that changes every 10 minutes. Humba Wumba’s Wigwam can be found here. She will offer to end the sandstorm and keep it at bay in exchange for 12 Rainbow Feathers. Mumbo’s Hut can be found here and he’ll transform Banjo into a Potted Cactus Plant. The cactus can shoot out prickly pin needles.

Coldthroat Sea: A cold Viking level that serves as the game’s ice world. The level has notable Viking. Scandinavian, and even some Russian theming. Every hour the Gruntilda alters the world from warm season to cold season and back again. In the warm season the ice melts giving way to floating glaciers and allowing access to the underwater parts of the world. In the cold season the water freezes over giving access to other parts while restricting access to the underwater areas. Humba Wumba’s Wigwam can be found here. She will offer to set the season to whatever you want for an hour and a half in exchange for 15 Rainbow Feathers.

Showdown Town: A dirty grungy urban city world that parodies Grand Theft Auto. Gruntilda acts as the town’s mayor and raises Banjo & Kazooie’s “Wanted Level” by 1 Star every half hour with a max of 6 Stars. With every star gained more numerous and stronger police forces pursue Banjo & Kazooie. Humba Wumba’s Wigwam can be found here. She will offer to use her magic to clear your “Wanted Level” in exchange for 20 Rainbow Feathers. Mumbo’s Hut can be found here and he’ll transform Banjo into a Washing Machine as seen in previous games. The washing machine transformation is quite humorously used to literally launder money.

Gruesome Graveyard: A gothic horror themed level this time centered around a castle as opposed a mansion like Mad Monster Mansion. Gruntilda will change the phase of the moon every 15 Minutes. The phases of the moon determine how hostile, powerful, and in general more dangerous enemies become, with new moons and full moons being the most dangerous. A new moon will feature strong vampire enemies, while full moons will spawn strong “were-bear” enemies. Mumbo appears in this stage and he’ll transform Banjo into a Candle. The Candle can light up dark areas and shoot out a flame attack, it also instantly dies in water.

Hot Hot Fission Factory: A factory complex that gets energy from nuclear power. Radioactive waste and weird mutated animals litter the factory. Gruntilda messes with the control rods every 15 minutes raising the “Heat Level” from 1 to 5, when the “Heat Level” reaches 5 the plant has a meltdown and a swift game over occurs. Thankfully Banjo & Kazooie can fight back by hitting various cooldown switches found throughout the factory (though you cannot hit the same button twice.). Mumbo’s Hut can be found here and he’ll transform Banjo into a cockroach, allowing Banjo to enter highly radioactive areas without taking damage. The cockroach has a bite attack.

Train Trackalamity: A long linear world that takes place entirely on a high-speed train. Gruntilda rides high in the sky, and breaks the connection of the train cars every 20 minutes starting with the caboose and ending with the coal cart behind the train. Essentially putting a time limit of how long you have to collect everything in a train car. You receive a game over if you don’t evacuate the rapidly decelerating train car in time. Humba Wumba waits for you at the train engine and offers to restore the train if you’ve collected 30 Rainbow Feathers. This will reset the whole level minus collected items.

Terrariums of Terror: A space themed land where all the previous levels have been rearranged into floating terrariums. Gruntilda will change the gravity of the terrarium you are in randomly every 5-15 minutes ranging from high gravity to normal gravity to low gravity. The sudden changes in gravity affect your platforming and flying abilities. Though the change in gravity in one terrarium resets the other terrariums. Humba Wumba’s Wigwam can be found in every Terrarium and she’ll offer to disable Gruntilda’s gravity magic for a half hour for 20 Rainbow Feathers. Mumbo’s Hut is also found in this level, Mumbo will turn you into a Bee as seen in previous games.

Gruntilda’s Science Lab: A sci-fi like science lab that serves as the “Final Level” of sorts with Banjo, Kazooie, and Gruntilda all mentioning how the last game lacked a proper final level. It’s a linear level with no collectables but it puts all of Banjo’s and all of Kazooie’s moves to the test much like Bowser’s Road in Super Mario 64.

New Moves
Mumbo Flute: A pair of magic flutes from Mumbo. It will teleport both Banjo and Kazooie to the spot where they separated so they may reunite. Useful for when Banjo and Kazooie are far away from eachother in a world and need to reunite.

Breegull Beaksaw: Banjo grabs Kazooie’s tail feathers and pulls, using Kazooie like a Chainsaw. It can be used for a number of environment interactions. It also does damage to enemies.

Solo Flying: By using a flight pad or using Ballistic Breegull Kazooie flies’ solo without Banjo. Kazooie is much faster in the air when flying solo controlling much like a fighter plane. Going faster when diving down and losing speed when going up. Just like with regular flying Solo Flying require red feathers.

Ballistic Breegull: Banjo uses his strength to stretch Kazooie and send her flying like a rubber band. This move splits up Banjo and Kazooie with the player taking control of Kazooie once the initial fling reaches apex putting Kazooie airborne. Kazooie will take damage if she hits a wall during the initial fling.

Kamikazooie: A version of Beak Bomb for solo flying, because Kazooie flies much faster while not carrying Banjo it’s a far more destructive move that can one shot almost any non-boss enemy, but at the cost of completely destroying Kazooie’s health bar by a whole 3 honeycomb.

Super Spin: Using Kazooie and his backpack as a counterweight Banjo spins around. Used to solve puzzles and interacting with other things that spin like giant screws and bolts. Also does damage to enemies, the damage is small but it knocks them back a good distance.

Helicopter Hover: By spinning around Kazooie can slowly lift into the air by holding the A Button. Let go of A and Kazooie will slowly float down.

Reception
The reception was enormously positive gaining high praise among fans and critics alike and selling over 4.97 Million copies and becoming the 5th best-selling GameCube game of all time. Many fans frequently tout the game as the true collect-a-thon for the GameCube over Mario Sunshine which had a more mixed reception among fans.

Quotes
Gee, even more moves? Is there still buttons left on the controller?” – Banjo upon learning Jamjars has more moves for him and Kazooie

“Let’s hope nobody radically redesigns how you control video games! We might be in trouble!” – Kazooie’s response.

“I’m getting sick and tired of this charade! I’m out of here for good! I’m going to another game series! You two can’t bother me if you’re not the protagonist!” – Gobi the Camel

“I hear that Mario guy cleans things with a water pump now. I wish he’s come spray me off!” - Loggo wishing someone would come and clean him up.

Awesome Music
: Grant Kirkhope once again hits it out of the park with the soundtrack. Special mentions go to Train Trackalamity which gets faster as train cars are unhooked. Hot Hot Fission Factory getting more intense as the “Heat Level” rises, Gruesome Graveyard changing with the phases of the moon and Terrariums of Terror which uses the leitmotif from every previous level depending on the terrarium you’re in.

Butt-Monkey: Poor Gobi once again suffers under Banjo and Kazooie Beak Bombing him for his water. After getting whacked once in Sombrero Sands and again in Terrariums of Terror he decides he’s had enough and goes to an entirely different game series.

Laser-Guided Karma: Boggy's laziness and neglect of his children finally catches up to him as Ms. Boggy has divorced him. He offers a Jiggy to Banjo if he helps him get back with his ex-wife. It doesn’t work but Banjo still gets a Jiggy from it.

Mrs. Robinson: Ms. Boggy ends up flirting with Banjo when he tries to help patch up her relationship with Boggy. This leads to Boggy showing up at the worst possible moment and attacking Banjo in a blind rage. Banjo gets a Jiggy after beating up Boggy.
