Sargon's Theatre

This is one of the two main movie channels that are present on AH.com.

Overview

Sargon maintains a channel that is one of the two regular and permanent Movie Night events on the forums here. It holds the Sunday night slot and goes live every week at 14:00 Eastern Time/19:00 BST (GMT+1) for several hours. The channel sometimes starts as early as 12:00 Eastern Time/17:00 BST (GMT+1) with replays of popular shows from the previous week that people may have missed. Times are adjusted to take into account Daylight Savings Time at the appropriate time of the year for both the US and UK zones since they change on different days. He is kindly supported by a production and moderation team that includes Arafeel, Caesar, Dan1988, Morgan Brykein, MrP, Ofaloaf, and Orioes.

From Sunday 24th of October, the start time will be from 16:00 Eastern Time/21:00 BST (GMT+1).

The length of the movie nights now alternate each week. A shorter night lasting around 6-7 hours is shown one week, and a longer one lasting around 10-12 hours is shown the next, and then a short one again and so on. This allows a greater variety of shows to be shown as well as making it easier to cope with organising it all.

The channel tends to specialise in a wide range of films and TV shows. Historical documentaries and period dramas feature, along with comedy shows and science fiction. Animation is also shown in the form of classic Warner Brothers cartoons, Tom and Jerry and suchlike alongside those aimed at a more adult audience. Music, funny adverts and film trailers are also a regular feature throughout the night, rounded off with a couple of national anthems from various countries.

It is hosted on a video streaming site and the channel itself where people can watch the shows can be found here.

On the forum, Sargon's Theatre maintains a thread here that is regularly updated with all the listings and times for upcoming events. It is always a good idea to check through the most recent posts to find a list of the latest shows. When the night itself is running, a regular update of what's about to be shown next each time one item nears the end is also shown.

In Board culture, Sargon's Theatre is beamed to all the AH.com Territories and the Grand Empress of AH.com is known to attend when she has the opportunity. She is also responsible for some of the content shown in the listings via suggestions of things she likes. Also, Sargon finds it's often cheaper to buy the proper DVDs and VCDs of various media in Hong Kong than in Britain. However, for rarer items, Sargon often purchases them from a variety of places such as Amazon where it is possible to get a low price. Many items are from Sargon's personal library painstakingly built up over the years.
