Sargon's Theatre

This is one of the two main movie channels that are present on

Sargon maintains a channel that is one of the two regular and permanent Movie Night events on the forums here. It holds the Sunday night slot and goes live every week at 16:00 Eastern Time/21:00 GMT for several hours. The channel sometimes starts earlier at 13:00 Eastern Time/20:00 GMT with replays of popular shows from the previous week that people may have missed. The main show always starts at 16:00/21:00 though.

Times are adjusted to take into account Daylight Savings Time at the appropriate time of the year for both the US and UK zones since they change on different days. He is kindly supported by a production and moderation team that includes Arafeel, Caesar, Dan1988, Richard Harrow, MrP, Ofaloaf, and Orioes.

Previously, start times were at 14:00 Eastern Time/19:00 GMT, but as the amount of work in putting together what would often be a 12 hour movie night was prohibitive and draining, shorter nights have recently replaced them. The option for long nights is still open for usage from time to time in the case of special occasions however.

The programme currently runs on a three week cycle meaning that episodes of ongoing shows are shown every third week. This is because on the longer nights it was possible to show much more, but when cut down to shorter nights things had to be shown over more weeks. It was felt that rather than dropping a show, people could continue to enjoy it, albeit shown over a longer period.

The channel tends to specialise in a wide range of films and TV shows. Historical documentaries and period dramas feature, along with comedy shows and science fiction. Animation is also shown in the form of classic Warner Brothers cartoons, Tom and Jerry and suchlike alongside those aimed at a more adult audience. Music, funny adverts and film trailers are also a regular feature throughout the night, rounded off with a couple of national anthems from various countries.

It is hosted on a video streaming site and the channel itself where people can watch the shows can be found here.

On the forum, Sargon's Theatre maintains a thread here that is regularly updated with all the listings and times for upcoming events. It is always a good idea to check through the most recent posts to find a list of the latest shows. When the night itself is running, a regular update of what's about to be shown next each time one item nears the end is also shown.

In Board culture, Sargon's Theatre is beamed to all the Territories and the Grand Empress of is known to attend when she has the opportunity. She is also responsible for some of the content shown in the listings via suggestions of things she likes. Also, Sargon finds it's often cheaper to buy the proper DVDs and VCDs of various media in Hong Kong than in Britain. However, for rarer items, Sargon often purchases them from a variety of places such as Amazon where it is possible to get a low price. Many items are from Sargon's personal library painstakingly built up over the years.
