As such he has a few decent friends from the whole experience, and quite a few run-ins, as shown by the fact that he doesn't respond to you're posts, because you're on his ignore list. Also has seems to have a bit of a habit of acting all super edgy on certain topics in Chat.

Along with Anaxagoras, he is one of the board's premier experts on the American Civil War.

He feels calling anyone on this site a “premier expert” or an “expert” without the academic credentials is a cancer.

Japhy does hold a BA degree in history, but his concentration was “American History” with a focus not directly related to the American Civil War, his dissertation piece was on Antebellum Riots, Policing and Politics in New York City. He also got one minor in East Asian History (And another in something even more useless than history.) He even took a pair of Canadian History classes at SUNY Plattsburgh for a year, which is of course the premier school to study Canada at in the United States.

So please realize that although those credentials are nice and all, he is no expert, just a dilettante, and certainly not with a single minded focus of the American Civil War.

Japhy is the founder of the Livy Awards which are on the path to being a one-shot attempt to develop a new system of rating the best works of the site.

Japhy is the Dear Leader, as so anointed by the Eternal Leader Haggis of the Haggesian Crusade, as such he has begun to campaign with two offerings, neither of which, in the standard traditions of Japhy are completed.

Japhy has completed two TLIADs “Bombard the Headquarters” about Late Maoist China and “The Crapgames of New York” where a dead horse was beaten and Mayors of New York would go out of order. Neither was completed anywhere close to a day.
