What if the so called cultural "British Invasion" movement in the mid-60s was a real, full fledged invasion across the Atlantic?

Whatever the justifications for this war, its outcome and consequences are up to you - all I ask is that there is no POD prior to 1945 ;)

Straight up ASB. Britain almost certainly couldn't get it done with a POD after about 1875, and even then it would be a short-lived exercise until the Americans rallied and sheer force pushed them out.

I never said they had to win, rather what could lead to it and what the fallout may be

This is actually rather silly on the face of it.

Damned near trolling to be completely clear.

But to answer the question. The invasion force is sunk at sea with near total loss of life. The RN loses 80% of its total strength (U.S. doesn't get away clean either, figure three carrir groups getting beat badly and a couple subs lost). The lunatics who tried this are tossed out of office in London, with queen openly lamenting that she no longer has the authority to have them beheaded for treason.

Question asked/answered.

Don't Troll!
