The New Order: Last Days of Europe - An Axis Victory Cold War Mod for HoIIV

A handful.

Elizabeth II, Rurik II minister of economics, Andreas Meyer-landrut, the ultranat Palestine leader, Gorbachev, etc.
Hmm, I wonder if we could contact Meyer-Landrut. Especially since he actually comes off well in TNO.
Wait, do you have evidence of this? Because this sounds funny and I am dying to hear how Sidos reacted to TNO.
It sounds like Sidos died before he could be contacted.

He's also the grandpa of Lena Meyer-Landrut, the so-far last German to win the Eurovision Song Contest.

Which kinda makes me root for the DSR, just because of those Grim104 rap lyrics:
My parents were from West Germany - Terror, Schleyer, Landshut
I merely get the rests to see - Lena Meyer-Landrut

I’d love to be a fly on the wall if Rurik were to learn what his alternate self was up to.
It is not Rurik II, it is his minister of economics, the son of the socdem leader of Komi

Ah, the daughter of Vladimir III, she is also alive and she's probably one of the post Tabby warlords

Or Rurik's daughter, princess Lydia. In OTL, she was a nurse for the Red Army during WW2, and afterwards, lived out the rest of her live as an ordinary Soviet home wife. While in TNO, regardless of what you think of her politics, she would have been a total bad ass, an autocratic warrior monarch, and one of the militarily strongest non-insane unifiers for Russia.

Just imagine if in say... 60-70 years time, some of use here on AH.com gets featured in an alternate history mod for a VR grand strategy game as political and military leaders, based on the stuff that we have posted on this forum and other social media sites, with people trying to track us down, and ask for our opinions on our portrayal in the game!

I've given serious thought to entering politics later in life. Even if my political legacy ends up as nothing more than "that one socialist who ran for the Washington State legislature in 2030 and got trounced", it might be enough.

So regarding Sidos, something I noticed is that unless his route is a massive failstate, Pierre Sidos is probably one of the more dangerous of the far right characters in the mod

Because he only died like a few months ago. This means he will be one of the characters that could live through both TNO1 and TNO2

And probably will have a really fucked up character arc spanning 1964-1982.

This honestly makes Sidos the route I am actually interested in the most for PW despite his awfulness, he will have far more time and room to adapt his ideology to the challenges of the late 20th century, which makes a natsoc france playthrough rather interesting despite the horrors it would entail

I gonna try him first just for the meme of him being alive, but damn, he's a natsoc and a unrepentant supporter of Hitler so he probably will be a rodzaevsk like route.

Reading his wikipedia page alongside many French Neo-Fascists, many of the Neo-Fascists claim to be followers of Petainism.

A lot of the Neo-Fascist Movements in France aren't National Socialists per say in terms of their policies, but they sure as hell are hardcore antisemites who also idolize Hitler and deny the Holocaust. Although they mostly idolize Petain. The only actual Neo-Nazi Movements in France were the FANE and the PNFE, although other major Neo-Fascist Movements despite their emulation of Hitler and his Nazis seek to follow the Petainism alongside the Italian, Spanish and Portuguese models of Fascism, but at the same time, they also flaunt Racial Supremacist Ideology as is the norm of Far-Right movements.

For Sidos, his goal is to make France cooperate with Germany, in hopes of having a National Socialist France that is equal to Germany economically and militarily.
A dev does state the Europeanists seek to develop stronger ties with Germany in hopes that a NatSoc France can form a sort of Franco-Germanic Alliance. This does remind me of the Chen Gongbo's Pan-Asianists in the KMT who simp for the Japanese.

And like the Pan-Asianists with Japan, they don't understand that Germany cannot stand equals, only vassals.

I could see it end badly, in that Sidos finds that despite his goal of a France that is militarily and economically equal to Germany would only end up with France being simply a subordinate to Germany. Sidos wish of a strong military and economy goes to waste, while France continues to be under Germany's boot with Germany likely doubling down on their control of France. Plus Sidos and his movement is described as already unpopular as it is, wishing to work with the same nation that humiliated and weakened them, and so his wish of a strong economy and military being irrelevant along with France still under German boots would be the last straw. This could lead to him being overthrown violently by fed-up French citizens.

I wonder what paths they're not telling us about. France seems like fertile ground for an Ultranationalist anti-German movement, possibly a parallel to the Siberian Black League.

I really see the OAS as being the prime candidate for something like that. I do think it would've been more appropriate that they would be an extreme faction within the Resistance, because it would feel more fitting for a group named "Secret Army Organisation". Whereas on the flipside it doesn't suit well for a government branch.

Honestly, I'd like an ultranat French path that's all about destroying Burgundy. They'd invade Burgundy and just allow them to use their one nuke to destroy one of their cities. When the dust settles they'll take back France. Burgundy will be totally destroyed but France will not be able to recover; in effect the path would be France taking Burgundy down with it.

At one point France was supposed to be the Komi of the West, but they've walked back on that statement. However, I could see elements of that statement re-emerge in the future if the OAS and the resistance get content.

With the OAS being an Ultranationalist, I am curious if there is a Fascist path for Free France? Or heck Fascists affiliated with the French Resistance.

In TWR, Free France could go Fascist (Albeit pushing for an Apartheid State).

So this gives ideas. Fascist Free France could be lead by Hardline Nationalists who alomg with reclaiming France seek to create an Autocratic Nationalist Regime. Kind of like Lehi in Israel adopting the ideology of the enemy, but for different reasons. I can imagine being stranded in Africa can cause people to go mad and adopt Radical ideology.

I also had an idea for a French path involving Burgundy, where Sidos allies with the SS-Charlemagne. It could get them back their lands in Burgundy, but could also lead to SS-Charlemagne taking over and implementing the Burgundian System in France.
