I'm well aware this is probably getting me kicked.

That was poorly handled Cal. The discussion had ended. There was no reason to cease replies.

A little something I like to describe as "America if it drank the Holy Roman kool-aid". The Ursine Empire and Republic of Texas are autonomous subjects of the Confederal Government(tm) in Philadelphia.

I almost missed the legend at the top and thought you had renamed Oklahoma "5".

I still have some work to do on it, but I'm going to make the legend a little bigger, and have a bigger "difference" between each of the states' exact government types.

The Third International got into the war in April 1939 after forcing the event on Switzerland, and Mitteleuropa responded. The Luddendorflinie held against direct assault, it's just unfortunate that the French only made a show of one, sending in punishment battalions made up of political prisoners and other traitors, their hands bound to dummy rifles from the First Weltzkrieg. Communard artillery made a few tents in the larger forts to keep the Germans on their toes in a period which would become known as "Der Angeber Krieg"- The Phony War. In July the true assault began. Ariel devastation from experimental bombs burst through the largest German fortifications, or simply incinerated their occupants, whilst Dague Squads and paratroopers took them out from behind, assisted by cloaked units of German Revolutionaries who had been preparing in secrecy since before the war began, led by the enigmatic British agent, Lawrence of Germania. Meanwhile the Union of Britain's Navy fought a hard battle against the Kriegsmarine though ultimately they proved evenly matched, even with French and Norwegian support.

The Whermacht fell back to what the American volunteers called "The Rhine Line" but what its German defenders would call Verzagenlinie, the Line of Despair. The Internationale extended their front, breaking through Flemish-Walloonian defences as British marines shattered the Dutch fleet and made landings at the mouth of the Rhine. Unrest began to break out in the rear, imprisonment of Labour activists incited anger among the people as innocents were dumped in the street, beaten within an inch of their, or never seen again. In Lithuania nationalist sentiments bubbled to the surface as the government attempted to suppress the fights of Germans in the country, meanwhile in Ukraine Nikita Khrushchev overthrew Vasyl's government and declared a Socialist Republic, whilst in White Ruthenia King Vladimir was abducted and desposed of by his own brother, who promptly abandoned the nations German alliance. By 1940 the Kaiserreich was on the ropes.

Little known fact, Wrangel has excellent timing. Within a week of the International breaking crossing the line (despondent defenders shot their dickhead commander and declared for the Torch & Hammer) the freshly crowned Tsar of All Russians was hashing out the final details of a treaty with the Kaiser. In exchange for carte blance in Ukraine, Belorussia, the Caucuses, Anatolia, and all points east Russia would declare for Germany, sending wave after wave of men to smash the Red scum.

Also little known fact, Bukharin is very lucky. As Wrangel was inspecting his personal guard in Rostov before departing for Ukraine to take personal command of the Russian war effort, a lone shot rang out, the Black Baron collapse like a house of cards, and with him so did all Russia. That shot, fired by one Iosif Grigulevich, was a starting pistol (starting rifle?) for the Second Russian Revolution. Organised strike action began to occur across all of Russia to protest the "unjust war", meanwhile in Georgia everyone's favourite child rapist, Lavrenti Beria, ordered his men to descend from the mountains and wreck chaos on people other than his own citizens for a change.

Europe was in flames, International and Danubian soldiers eyed each other fiercely across the Alps as German, Syndicalist, and nationalist forces clashed in Eastern Europe in the worst scenes for over twenty years.

Wouldn't 1941 be a good year for the Entente to get involved?

Really they did much more harm than good. Canadians had been smarting since Edward abolished parliament, his Rule by Decree, whilst popular when implementing crowd pleasing edicts, did not suit well when you know exactly the one man who is increasing taxes and restrictions on your life, nor does it help that many a disgruntled Canadian civil servant took umbrage at the defilement of their democracy and decided to discredit these decisions sowing dubious disaster.

It also brought the CSA, now the Workers Confederation and decidedly RadSoc fully into the war. America had been iffy since war had broken out, there was far too much to rebuild and the people were exhausted, sure they vastly outproduced production even seen during the First Weltzkrieg and American volunteers were in the hundreds of thousands (lots of young people who like killing and aren't too keen on rebuilding ya see), but Canadian action was very quickly turned into American outrage. In January 1941 an American cargo ship bound for Holland via Norway ran afoul of a Canadian Destroyer, the Captain of which thought it was a good idea to halt, board, harass, and sink a neutral ship which was friendly towards an enemy nation in a time of war. Pin a fucking medal onto that guy.

And that's most of the major events. Germany fell fully in '42 when Riga was captured by a British-Polish army, and most of the remaining Black Russian forces got rounded up by the Autumn of '43, by which point Russians were barely the majority of International forces in that theatre. The Americans put up a stalwart defence of Minnesota and Pennsylvania, with the Siege of Philadelphia being a battle worthy of our own Stalingrad, fortunately as the conflict eased in Europe and the Imperial French Navy was put to port (Italians did fucking something right for a change) Europeans began to flock over throughout the winter of 1942, many of them Volunteers from the Second Civil War and quite bemused to return to their old stomping crowns, "Look George, that's where we scalped those Minutemen!"

Let's see. Well after the fall of the Great Lakes the Canadians just had enough and John Horne Blackmore led a putsch in Alberta, effectively cutting off the retreat of the remaining Royal Family with Canada declaring itself an independent republic. Currently the heir to Windsor is held in Australia, the rather dubious David Anthony Chisholm who is supposed to be a bastard of Edward, meanwhile India and South Africa are currently trying to hunt down their own successors to seize power away from the Aussies. As of now South Africa is top dog militarily, and leading the fight against the truly worn out International in Central Africa the Syndicalists may finally experience a reverse!

Of the Totalists, well what can one say? On a cold, wet day in 1943 General Lawrence met with the Interior Minister for the Union of Britain, Arthur Blair, and the both of them ceased power. Chairman Oswald Mosley was taken into custody by a force of British militiamen, a suspicious number of whom were recently arrived American emigres. Blair promptly resigned his post to a coalition of the Federationists, Congregationalists, and Autonomists and placed himself under arrest. He was sentenced to six months labour and a ban on ever running for any office of authority. He currently likes to spend his days living in relative obscurity, occasionally visiting Mosley in his prison on the Isle of Wight and pester him with his writing. Clement Atlee is the current leader of Britain, and whilst he's still allowing intervention (particularly allowing the UoB navy to raid the Falkland Islands) he's very keen on de-escalating things. Mussolini has quite possibly had a stroke as he's not been seen for the last four months, in any event Italy is incredibly unstable after reunification. France meanwhile is getting considerable pressure placed on it from both Britain and America, and Valois may just crack...

The Hoosier Soviet sounds like the perfect place.

how has Japan no invade Korea already.

It got caught up in an invasion of China and Russia, but I reckon Korea is next on Japan's sights. Currently the Japanese Emperor claims the Mandate of Heaven, and claims the Chinese throne.

Let's just stop talking about it and enjoy this new map thread, no reason to blame each other and ourselves for what happened, let's just acknowledge that it happened and not let it happen again and have fun here

What if the problem is 'too many utopian maps'?

There is no such thing as perfection, for it in and of itself is subjective. In addition, true subjective individual perfection, when achieved will become boring and inadequate over time, thus resulting in natural flaws, for the only way something can be perfect is to have a flaw to compare it to. Therefore Utopias, or the world of perfection, cannot exist.
