Shadow over Earth Part 3

Since last we saw the earth the Deep Ones and the Human Race had to grudgingly come together and form an alliance to fight off the incursion by the fungal race of Yuggoth known as the Mi-Go. This second war for dominance over the earth left the planet battered and burned after nuclear hell fire rained across many points across the globe. A shadow has fallen over the planet earth as peace between the three races has finally put an end to the seven year war. As Man, Deep One, and Mi-go grudgingly acknowledge that they must share the world a darkness is rising... a darkness that may mean the end of existence on the planet we call earth.

Napoleonic Egypt

This is loosely based on something I saw once in the Flag Thread.

ITTL, Napoleon decides to stay in Egypt with his men. The British eventually decide to give up on him and go home. He and the army convert to Islam and take Egyptian wives. This forms the nucleus of a new ruling class in the same mold as the Ptolemies and the Mamluks. Napoleon declares himself Emperor of the Egyptians and consolidates his control over the former Ottoman province while establishing in Cairo the beginnings of an effective government and administrative bureaucracy. He quickly becomes popular among the Egyptians for his effective administration, and among the Copts for his religious tolerance. His army soon swells with native soldiers.

In France, the republic is quickly toppled and the bourbons restored. Louis XVIII persecutes republican activity with great harshness, which leads to an exodus of revolutionaries and sympathizers from around Europe to Egypt. This swells Napoleon's army even further, and leads to a renaissance of sorts in Egypt as Europeans adopt a synthesis of Arab and European culture and rediscover ancient Egyptian culture.

After he effectively consolidates power, and resoundingly defeats an Ottoman attempt to recapture the province, he launches a campaign northwards into the Levant, capturing Jerusalem and Syria. This separates the Hejaz from the Ottomans, and the Hashemite Emirs declare independence. Napoleon allies with Qajarid Persia against the Ottomans, who invade the Caucasus while Napoleon invades and conquers Mesopotamia.

The devastated Ottomans sue for peace after this crushing defeat, and agree to cede to Egypt Crete and Rhodes, as well as to give up claim to the Caliphate.

Napoleon then defeats the Hashemites and conquers the Hejaz, declaring himself to be Caliph of Islam. His last campaign would be against the Barbary states in Libya, which he would incorporate into Egypt.

His son by an Egyptian woman, Napoleon II, would succeed him, and continue his expansion, conquering Qatar to give Egypt a Persian Gulf coast, and southwards into Sudan, bringing the border to between the third and fourth cataracts of the Nile, and making the Red Sea an Egyptian lake. He would also build a new capital for the Empire along the Nile, the city of Napoleonopolis, designed by expert French city planners with elegant bridges, mosques, minarets, and palm-lined boulevards.

The flag of Napoleonic Egypt is in the format of a regimental standard. Green represents Islam, Black represents Egypt, and Yellow represents the Empire.

Heres the so far unannotated part 2 for you guys. Do any of you want annotations. The borders in Siberia are the result of a Japanese treaty to make sure the Siberian government is pro-Japanese, though it has lost some territory to the khanate below thanks to Sermenov and his troops still around to protect the Guyak Khan. Next in store is an ASB map sort of based on a topic on this forum.

Next is my more ASB project, based on 20th Century Khan, in a world where Sternberg is successful in his aims in Siberia and Mongolia, before launching a massive invasion of the USSR and than China with Japanese help during ww2, blitzing most of Asia in the process and subduing China. With so much territory lost, and the Mongols on the brink of the Suez canal, the British offer a peace saying that they will allow Sternberg to keep his Eurasian goals as long as he turns on his allies and stops attacking British and Allied Colonial possessions. Sternburg accepts the offer and smashes the Axis. He begins enormous atrocities across Eurasia, particularly to Jews, communists and anyone who opposes him. He looks at inspiration from the original Genghis Khan as to how to deal with the problems of China, and his solution is to cut the population by 40% to make it more manageable. However, some of his soldiers, even more brutal than he is, adopt racist and fascistic overtones to the slaughter, and some in the army even plot genocide against the non-mongoloid peoples of East Asia, hoping to place their equivalent of Lebensraum into the land, in order to make the Mongol gains more permanent. Sternburg creates administrative divisions for his generals and his sons (yes by this point, Sternburg has had sons who make up the top generals) and allows their territories to be divided on religious backgrounds so that management is easier of his totalitarian regime. The crimes against humanity are on a scale beyond comparison in prevoius history or even in OTL, and it only seems to get even worse in the future. And yes, after Sternburg's death in 1968, the 'minor divisions' will become much more than minor, as will the troubles to their authority and the ethnic 'equalities' of the regimes shall equally be undermined.

Note that the occupation zone in south China is a part of the Great Khanate, but is under direct military occupation, while the mongoloid groups of Manchuria and other parts of northern China are already being 'reintegrated' into the population. Meanwhile the governments in exile are having mixed success, particularly as a communist african movement has popped up, re-birthing the comintern beyond Mongolian reach and making the situation even more unbearable. The year is 1959 and dystopia is upon this world.

Woah, I never thought I'd ever see a state called "The Catholic Khanate" and I've always wondered what a modern version of the Mongol invasions would look like.

Is that an Imperial Russian government-in-exile in Novaya Zemlya?

Well, I'd have thought it to just be an accidental mistake, but now I think about it, the Mongols have crap naval power (vassals are only a result of treaty) so who knows?
And yeah Sternberg wanted to divide on religious grounds, each totalitarian theocracies, to be more 'effective' than the old empire (spoiler it's not) and after his death, the Khanates become independent and many, especially in Europe and Middle East go to war in the 70s and begin to fall apart, like Yugoslavia on a continental scale. Meanwhile Hindu khanate becomes quite stable while the Great Khanate is involved in the most horrific atrocity in human history and unfortunately is quite stable as well, though signs of liberalisation are on the horizon by the late 70s/early 80s. America and Britain are even more xenophobic than otl, the communists in Africa are also quite brutal so outside of the Empire and Amerixa it's a crapsack world.

I must know. What the hell is Japan doing to ward off both the Mi-Go and the spawn of Father Dagon & Mother Hydra? Did they unveil some manner of super robot, or did they call to arms their own giant, reptilian doom-bringer?

Don't worry, in time there will be plenty of space for the Daemon of the Valley and the Genie that haunts the moonbeams to ponder who it was that long ago placed the stones that were now the desolate ruin near the river Than.

Who lives in the giant Saharan state?

The Saharan Caliphate is basically a bunch of people living in the desert out of reach of the Deep Ones. They study the book of the Mad Arab known as the Necronomicon so that they can figure out wards to keep the hellish nightmares away.

I must know. What the hell is Japan doing to ward off both the Mi-Go and the spawn of Father Dagon & Mother Hydra? Did they unveil some manner of super robot, or did they call to arms their own giant, reptilian doom-bringer?

They staved off the Deep Ones thanks to lots of poison gas and rituals that they got from some pacific islanders that were conquered by the empire. The Mi-go never set foot on Japan during their invasion thanks to most of their military forces tied up in mainland Asia fighting the Soviets, the Chinese, and the Deep Ones.

Besides, there is a lot of historical precedent of people dividing lands up randomly for their own political gain and the feelings of the people there being disregarded.

It's very good, I like the way things are blended.
That said IMO their ought to be alot more natives about and/or a category of Mestizo/Mixed (which would more than likely be the majority) would help.

Also, where exactly are/is the Greek population(s), I can't seem to find them.
