As the title says.
World War 1 ends in status quo ante bellum followed by a prolonged Cold War between Central Powers and the Entente. How would this impact cultural development, self-identity and various art movements?
OTL during and after the Cold War there was/is a notion (albeit one that's not shared by everyone) that Russia isn't part of the West or even Europe despite Russia historically being embedded in West/Europe through monarchic ties, alliances, philosophical movements like enlightenment, culture, art, etc. If there is a Cold War between the Entente and a Germany-Austria-Ottoman block would Germans become viewed as not "true" Europeans somehow? What if Italy is also a member of the CP in this TL? How would people justify Italians (and by extension – the Romans) as being "un-European"?
What about the other side of the divide? How would Germans, Austria-Hungarians and Ottomans come to view themselves vis-à-vis France, UK and Russia if there is multi-decade Cold War between them?
