The "Fascist" Alliance
The Alliance for World Communism
(AlCom)
Seen by many as little more than an extension of Eurasian foreign policy, the Alliance for World Communism draw their identity from that of the Eurasian Union; as the world's first socialist successful state, many inside AlCom see themselves as the only true socialists; carrying on the legacy of the Four Great Chairmen that dictated the early years of the Eurasian State; Vladimir Lenin 1913-1923, Leon Trotsky 1923, Lev Kamenev 1923-1933 and Zhang Wentian 1933-1943.
Life inside AlCom is tough but not dystopic and whilst most of the member states are clearly under the thumb of Trotskygrad (OTL Moscow) they are able to excerpt certain amounts of independence so long as ideologically they don't dare stray from the party line. The system of government is that of a one party communist state and in all nations the Communist party exists as either the sole legitimate part or as part of a closely associated "popular front" perhaps involving parties that call themselves Sorelian, Cooperative or something else. In truth of course; the Communist Party rules with absolute authority. For individuals, wages are low but so are costs; sometimes food is plentiful, sometimes it is sparse. Personal freedom is limited but existent and whilst all televised and digital media is state owned, there is much greater access to it and more institutional independence than in the Vanguard. Most have access to clean water and the WorldWeb can be accessed at state control libraries. Things could be (and certainly have been) worse but life is rather grim on the whole.
Aligned with the Vanguard largely out of necessity rather than ideological closeness; AlCom are the main opponent to the CCU in the International and elsewhere they are utterly opposed to the "thinly veiled bourgeoisie democracy" of the "Liberals", which they see as "utterly antithetical to Marx's teachings and to socialism in general. The North American Wars of the 1950s-1970s were the largest example of this and it was during the Yucatan Missile Crisis of 1979 that the world came closest to war. The detente of the 80s and 90s crumbled at the turn of the century as AlCom saw serious economic upset that many feared would sunder the alliance. With industry shifting eastward to the Chinese portion of Eurasia and to the Indus People's Republic, they felt minor economic recovery and now stand as powerful as ever.
Key members of AlCom include: the Eurasian Union, the Great Plains People's Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Yucatan, the Indus People's Republic, Popular Bolivaria, the Democratic Republic of the Guineas and others.
The Vanguard Communion
The Vanguard fulfills the worst nightmares of the pre-revolutionary world or, if anything, pale utterly in comparison. The fusion of Militaristic Revolution and Racial Supremacist thought has led to a grim, dystopian system of government. It is the Fire and Blood of revolution that sustains and fuels these states, they view themselves as being in a constant state of revolutionary warfare against three classes of Impure: the Rich (bankers, Jews and Englishmen), the Scheming (Japanese, non-party members and, again, Jews) and the Corrupted (racial mixers and guess who else). The odd form of "international racism", effectively an extreme version of separate but equal provides that if races and nations stay separate and keep shedding the blood of the Impure, then the many revolutions of the world can be sustained.
"Sorelianism" is the ideology of the Vanguard; based first on the work of Georges Sorel and then built on by later thinkers, particularly Gregor Strasser, Percy LaRouche and Minyar Gaddafi, Sorelianism is an absolutist, "hyper-revolutionary" strand of thought. Oddly taking one of its founding mottos from the undeniably non-socialistic Thomas Jefferson; "The tree of liberty must be refreshed [redacted] forever with the blood of patriots and tyrants." Internationally the Vanguard is extremely aggressive; via Columbia and France they pursue invasions and interventions across the world; they utterly despise the CCU and UHI. The former are decadent, capitalistic traitors who wear socialism as a veil whilst the later are utterly delusional and oppressive reactionaries. Somewhat open to the Anarchists, particularly more militarist communes such as Black Ukraine, and almost friendly with AlCom, who at the very least understand that socialism is about the absolute control of the state over the people, even if they miss the racial and militaristic aspects of "true socialism". Their only real argument with AlCom, that of the 3 way division of China, is only really an issue for the Yangtze Banners (the Sorelian Commune that occupies middle China) and despite flaring up in 2001 has largely died down again. The erratic and aggressive behavior of the Vanguard has caused many a great deal of worry but for now they are certainly 3rd among the Big Three; the sheer size of Eurasia's AlCom and the technological and economic dominance of the Commonwealth of Britain's CCU puts them at a severe disadvantage in every manner bar perhaps military might (although, again, the size of the CCU's United Naval and United Air Commands is unstoppable and the Red Army of Eurasia is the largely single force in the world).
Everyone in each Sorelian state is a member of a Syndicate and the states are led by power split between military unions and industrial ones. Some, like France, split the power roughly evenly whilst others favour the industries (Columbia) and others the military (Arabia). Life is miserable and totalitarian; even moreso in France than elsewhere. Cameras monitor any and all places the government can reach; bathrooms are sometimes exempt from this though houses are, of course, not. The police and military (often not distinguished from one another) patrol the streets and ensure the purity (both ideological and racial) of its people. Clothing is limited and varies little by country; usually overalls (although in Columbia it is plain work trousers and a buttoned shirt), most often grey, brown or black. All citizens spend between 1 (Kambeze) and 10 (France) years in the military before "promotion" to citizenship and to party membership. People and facts disappear, education is limited to non existent and there are clear lines drawn between the "inner party", "general party" and the "pregraduates". Disobeying an order from a higher ranking official at any point can have one "expromoted" down to "pregraduate" levels and expelled from the party. Non-party members have no access to state housing, food or healthcare and are not considered citizens. Those who do not escape (which is both rare and difficult) have a life expectancy of 4 months after their "expromotion". Media is often singular; the Compact of the French for instance has but a single newspaper and television channel whilst the WorldWeb is explicitly banned as "counter-revolutionary". They use their own dating system and, in what many Sorelians see as their crowning achievement, have abolished both property and currency (although an official currency is continued by some governments to make international trading less of a headache). Citizens are grouped by their "supervisors" (bosses, though such a name is far too anti-revolutionary) into one of 10 catagories; each being entitled to a certain amount of food, healthcare, entertainment and a certain level of housing. Category 3 is most common; two room houses for all families, water, bread and then either a meat or vegetable ration. In Cat-10 inner party members live in golden opulence and in Cat-1 your 100 gram daily bread ration leads to death by starvation more often than not.
Key members of the Vanguard include the Compact of the French, the Columbian Construct, the Platean Communion, the Compact of Kambeze, the Yangtze Banners and the Compact of the Arabs.
