    Team: United Neutral Team
  • "Football shall unite us and unity shall lead us to our first World Championship" - the decisive joint announcement by the General Secretary of DASV Gerald Asamoah, President of the SBVDR-F Kurt Haidmann, ÖFB President Hans Krankl, and the Presidents of the eastern German football associations (FBS - Victor Hochberg, SdFB - Ralf Voigt, SFV - Miroslav Klose, and PVfL - Dietmar Pfaff)

    The borders are inspired and taken from different sources, the basemap being from "Die Alte Welt hat überlebt". I made most of the maps myself, however, credit does go to @Hindustani Person, @KaiserEmu , @Augenis , @mikroraptor et al. for the TL and several of the ideas.

    Notes:

    Only Arthur and Roland are related, Tibetan seems to suffer from the same dearth of surnames that inflicts its related languages as well;
    The Empire of Tibet is basically Bhutan, except the Raj gave the whole plateau to the Wangchuk dynasty after a successful invasion, as a buffer against China and Russia;
    Football is the most popular foreign sport in the Empire, but it comes in second place overall after archery;
    They've got a whole lot of stamina, due to playing and training in the Himalayas, but they're far from being a top team - they're basically OTL Iceland;
    Longest hair in the World Cup by far - their other claim to fame, is Vasily von Ungern-Sternberg being association football's answer to New Jack of the ECW, dude's insane.

    Great Lakes Republic
  • Nation Name: Great Lakes Republic (Referred to as the GLR in everyday conversation).
    Capital: Chicago
    Other Major Cities: Lincoln, Stevenson, Taft.
    Population: 56 Million
    Official Languages: English (language of government) and German (most spoken in Minnesota and Wisconsin).
    Government Type: Federated Republic.
    President: Richard Durbin
    Speaker: Amy Klobuchar
    National Federation: Great Lakes Federation
    National Stadium: Lincoln Field
    Team Nickname: The North Coasters
    History: Founded in 1870, the GLR has long had uneasy relations with its neighbor, the Confederate States of America. Both were founded as a result of the American Civil War. This uneasiness has translated into an excellent if at times uneven rivalry, with the GLR holding a clear advantage in head to head matches between the two countries. Founded by settlers from what was then the United States, the nation ethnically is composed mostly of Irish, German, and English immigrants. There is also a large African American minority in the larger cities such as Chicago, where refugees from the CSA often flock in search of work. The Great Lakes Federation has offered any and all immigrants from that country the opportunity to play for the GLR national team, citing their common history as part of the USA as well as human rights abuses in the CSA. Unsurprisingly, this has heightened the rivalry between the two sides, and matches are often contentious, with physical play threatening to turn into outright brawls.
