I'm probably not going to finish in time for MOTF but I wanted to post a portion before it finished
The Southwestern Portion of the Baltic Mandate 2089, headquartered in Nexo, Bornholm. Though not quite Mediterranean, the climate has warmed, with the Carpathians dividing the increasingly subtropical Balkans/Pannonian Basin from a warm but still temperate continental Poland. Radiation is a constant threat, with nuclear proliferation strikes in Western Europe throwing up clouds of radioactive elements to be deposited across Eurasia. Large swathes of the Baltic Mandate are uninhabitable to humans, though nature finds a way. Over the past 60+ years, much of the urban locales have been stripped of scrap and taken over by grasses and shrubs. The modern transition from coniferous to deciduous forest has continued, though more through the processes of climate change, pest invasions, and fallout than the logging that traditionally forced the transition. Animal species have thrived in the edges of exclusion zones, with some making their homes in the heart of some of the worst fallout. Native or re-introduced megafauna roams, with wolves, escaped tigers, bears, water buffalo, feral horses, and American-European Bison hybrids growing in numbers, alongside pine martens, fox squirrels, racoons. Fisheries have recovered despite significant runoff from contaminated zones, though the catch is limited due to significant bioaccumulation. There are populations of humans entirely reliant on the rebounding wilderness for their caloric intake and economic livelihoods.
Poland, one of the largest states in the North Eurasian exclusion zones, with a population coming close to 300k, and maintaining three cities (Raciborz, Jelenia Gora, and Legnica) of over 30,000. The majority of the population is concentrated south of the Legnica-Rzeszow line, living in the shadows of the Carpathian Mountains. Poland has begrudgingly become one of the more diverse states of the Mandate, with Kashubians, Silesian Germans, Ukrainians, Vietnamese, Russians, Roma, Lemko, Goral, and Americans forming a substantial minority population, in some areas forming the majority of population still living in the region. Kashubians, Vietnamese, and Kurpies in particular are three populations who hold outsized importance to the Polish State, with all three being much more familiar and comfortable with navigating the wilderness, radiation, and isolated populations above the Legnica-Rzeszow Line. The Kashubian Autonomy is often considered a country unto it's own but participates in Polish Elections.
Carpathia is a majority Rusyn state that split from Ukraine in 2026 soon after 26/8, participating in the Ukrainian Civil War that followed. The Majority of the Rusyn population of the region has relocated to the areas around Villarrica, Chile, with Carpathia itself serving as a spiritual center, claim, and materials reclamation center for the Rusyn peoples. Due to its location south of the Carpathian Mountains, it's significantly better integrated into the Danubian Economic Network, though it remains in the Baltic Mandate in order to avoid Serbian domination and receive more aid from the United Nations.
Interior Peoples range from towns that refused to evacuate to the descendants of cults and militias. Some maintain sedentary agricultural lifestyles, others hunt and gather, while others serve as traders and security along the Amber Road, distributing finished goods from recovered nations deep into the Baltic and Volga Mandates, and bringing beeswax, lime, and other resources to the larger settlements of the mandate.

One of the better maps I've seen on this thread in a while
Very pretty! The rivers and roads look super realistic! And... a transatlantic railway? Sounds ambitious! An updated map of Escadia without transatlantic tunnel and railway line even from my own Reddit post (ViLP found on my signature below):
Think I mentioned something to him on his having Hungary flooded in his previous maps some years ago. Unsure if the Black Sea would be flooded either. Ahhh well, the Turks are entrusted with the Kurds, Armenians, and a bunch of Greeks here and... Hmmm, seems his other maps have those areas independent, with Turkey having joined the European Union. I expect this is something you need to read to understand. Odd what is going on with Denmark, the Dutch failing to retain their land, plus wouldn’t Lakshadweep be underwater?Redoing an old map I made years ago.

The world, 2035, from Second Renaissance. Cannot vouch for the pacific islands being accurate but this should be 95% accurate to Sean McKnight's original map. 2051 coming soon-ish.
Huh. I can understand the colors for the Socialists and Republicans, but you would think the Democrats would insist on White or Grey, given the people controlling things in the South.Based on (and intended to be consistent with) Emperor Julian's timeline here, this map depicts the House of Representatives election in 1922 where Woodrow Wilson was nominated for a third term as President in 1920. This one is substantially more speculative than yesterday's 1920 map. In particular, there were many New York seats won by Democrats in landslides OTL and hence are hard to imagine staying Republican but which canonically did. Again, not authorized or endorsed by Emperor Julian.

Though as Alsace and that portion of Lorraine are in separate subdivisions, it might not fulfill all our criteria for a good map. Presumably they have a couple of local canals connecting the Rhine and Danube, so we will give points for that.Very pretty! The rivers and roads look super realistic! And... a transatlantic railway? Sounds ambitious!
The image is a bit too grainy for my liking, but I like the scenario.View attachment 601931
POD: the Long Depression lasts into the 1910s
in the year 1924, at the height of the 3rd European Spring
Volksrat Republics are this worlds ephemeral states coming from the offspring of TTL's ww1, similar to Soviet Republics; The Union of Socialist Republics (southern german nation) is TTL's USSR.
Areas under considerable socialist influence and full revolt as the name signals these regions are under effective control by socialist revolutionaries.
I'm using colors very close to Emperor Julian's. He decided on brown for Democrats for a combination of contrast reasons (there are many other parties which gain seats later) and the closeness of the Dixiecrat platform to fascism relative to the other parties.Huh. I can understand the colors for the Socialists and Republicans, but you would think the Democrats would insist on White or Grey, given the people controlling things in the South.
The Empire of the Danube c.1925

A map of the Danubian Empire after its crushing victory in the Great War. Prior to the Great War Emperor Franz-Joseph enacted critical military reforms that helped modernize the KuK army for Warfare in the 20th Century. With a long period of economic growth thanks to the long years of peace prior to the war, the Empire was able to slowly increase the army budget. As a result, when Austria-Hungary entered the war in 1914, it put up a strong fight for the Central Powers. In revenge for the humiliation of the Italian wars, Austria crushed the upstart Savoyards marching up to Milan in a swift offensive forcing a harsh peace upon Italy who stabbed Austria-Hungary and Germany in the back for its defection to the Entente with Venetia being annexed into the Empire once again. In revenge for the slain Archduke Franz-Ferdinand, Serbia was crushed in a swift invasion where the a harsh occupation took place that culminated in Serbia being annexed into the Empire. With the Habsburgs victorious, a new national identity emerged based around common unity towards the Habsburg dynasty as opposed to ethnic or religious groups. Using this massive boost in legitimacy, Kaiser Karl I created a new federal structure for the Empire to sate the issues caused by growing ethnic tensions in the Empire.
I'm not sure that having fun integrating millions of humiliated and angry Serbs is a great idea on the part of Vienna. The Empire of the Danube c.1925

Glad you like it so much! This deserves to be reposted!
Of course. We've got to retake Silesia, Burgundy, Spain, Portugal, and the rest of the old Habsburg land in Northern Italy after all.443363757434/10, not enough Austria.
That's true. Its more of a fun non-plausible AH scenario based on an old HOI4 game I played when I first was learning how to use the game.I'm not sure that having fun integrating millions of humiliated and angry Serbs is a great idea on the part of Vienna.
I mean Yugoslavia's ethnic tensions mostly got as bad as it did because of economic problems and stunning incompetency from the government. Still I see your point. And basing the Union of such diverse peoples on the authority of a single man could end badly too, a bit like Tito's disappearance in Yugoslavia (but in twice the size).
Otherwise, apart from the borders that are too dark for my taste, I like it.

Here's another map I made not too long ago. This is based on Austria-Hungary negotiating a separate peace agreement during the war with the Entente with a successful Sixtus Affair. This sees Poland gain Galicia while Italy gains Istria and Trentino rather than all of South Tyrol. Bosnia in ttl is also ceded to serbia. The Empire now after a long and grueling war, still holds its head high, battered but not broken, emerging intact under Kaiser Karl's steadfast leadership. Though old tensions have begun to bubble to the surface as internal conflicts threaten to bring the Empire to the Brink of Civil War as questions of nationalism, monarchism. and independence spread throughout its lands. As you can see Greece in ttl, has won the Greco-Turkish War.
What do you guys think of this map? I'm planning on making another map of this covering the Imperial Civil War in the future after my finals are over
Yeah I used to hate the Habsburgs and the idea of the Austro-Hungarian Empire due to a lot of misinformation about it I heard in high school. The way I was taught was that it was a withered husk of a state that had no business continuing as it was a relic of a bygone era. Though this began to change once I began doing more research on them, and learned about them through games like EU IV, HOI IV, and Vic II.I love this, and I read about A-H surviving World War 1 in some fashion and so a successful Sixtus Affair that leads to it is very interesting. (IE: Something more of the Old Europe yet survives
I plan on them getting involved as well. Though Croatia and Slovenia in otl didn't really care for Yugoslavism, and only really joined out of fear of losing territory to Italy. The big issue beyond it own ethic problems is it neighbors. A Serbia that still wants Yugoslavism, and finished off Austria-Hungary, Italy still wanting all of South Tyrol, Dalmatia and also finish off Austria-Hungary. Never mind a pissed off Romania that might becomes a version of Fascist Italy, Germany, and the USSR.
Bulgaria: Am I a joke to you?Never mind a pissed off Romania that might becomes a version of Fascist Italy, Germany, and the USSR.
The inner Byzantophile in me forced my hand. Though things won't go as smoothly for Greece as they think once the Balkans and Europe are lit on fire.Go Go Greece Go.
Its loosely inspired by @Kaiser Wilhelm the Tenth's Danubian Civil War if that gives you an idea. His Central Powers Victory Timeline is quite good, and I recommend reading it.The mention Imperial Civil War is also very interesting by it very name, so best of luck in what it looks like.

Depending on how things turn out, instead of WWII there might be a series of various wars on the continent instead of one widespread war. Though I'm not too sure myself about all the details just yet.

How powerful would said Danubia be compared to Germany? Still the junior partner or are they now equally powerful? The Empire of the Danube c.1925
