Random fun fact, but did you know Space Engine can dump the textures it uses for its randomly generated planets into maps? Here's an example: here's a random planet, viewed from orbit...

You can also export the atmospheric layer if you want the weather patterns. But the best thing of all is that a little tweaking in paint.net gave me this:
It might not be perfect, but it seems rather...familiar It'd need some touching up by hand - sorting out the rivers, the straight on that northern section above the main lake/sea, adding a black border around all the continents to make it look crisp, but the combination of the two of them together means you can convert an entire star system to that kind of format in an hour or two, and any of the trillions of dynamically generated planets can be unpacked for textures and converted. The above planet is actually rather simple, as there are a lot of them that are much, much more complex when it comes to rivers, etc, but I wanted a fairly easy one to show off the process...and that it looks pretty good
