The Return of the King
Plot
A quintessentially Doc What episode. This features a planet where a cursed Egyptian mummy, the High Priest Manetho awoke and drew power from all the people of the world, ageing them considerably. His power also strikes the AH.commers in orbit. In order to beat Manetho, the AH.commers team up with an ancient black man claiming to be John F. Kennedy, go to Area 51 and break an individual known only as THE KING out of cryogenic storage. THE KING goes on to defeat Manetho and re-release all the life energy back into the world, restoring everyone's proper age.
It is significant that THE KING is never named.
Clearly inspired by the movie “Bubba Ho-Tep”, although with its own crazed Doctor What spin on things.
Continuity
This world would feature again in “HAIR TODAY, GOTTERDAMMERUNG TOMORROW” and “THE ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN”.
