So, what if Sega never released the Mega-CD? How would that happen without ASBs? What would happen to Sonic CD, one of the Mega-CD’s famed games? How would that affect the future of Sega? Would Sega still release a 32X-like add-on? What would happen to the Mega-CD’s FMV games? Would Sega still leave the console market? Would Sega still make consoles?

With more of a focus on keeping with the Mega-Drive/Genesis up until the Saturn, perhaps we could have certain CD titles, and maybe a more advanced Sonic title for the Saturn's launch, which could make that console a stronger competitor. I'd say Genesis/MD from about 1989 - 1994/early 1995, then the Saturn from about 1995 - 1998, if they could play it smart. Launch the DreamCast (or an equivalent) in 1999 or even late 1998 and get an early head-start on the next console generation, and maybe we could still see a healthily competitive SEGA in the console market. But that's if we can get SEGA Japan and America more agreeable, and they play things smarter in general.

Sonic CD would likely be an early release for the Saturn, tweaked and added to with some elements that later came up in Sonic 2, 3, & Knuckles, then there would probably be a sequel on the Saturn that uses some more 3D elements, or perhaps a full 3D one.
