Trenches have been set in the surroundings of the city of Punta Arenas, near the town of "tres puentes" north of the city there is constant fire between infantry, several companies have tried to advance, only to be met with astonishing defeat by both argentinian and chilean forces
MEANWHILE AT THE NORTH OF THE COUNTRY
"Warzone Alfa"
The Andes Mountain Range has become the main aerial dogfight warzone, mainly, pilots use the hard terrain of the mountains to trick each other into death traps, B52 launch offensives against the cities of Mendoza, Salta, Bariloche and Rio Gallegos, the Argentinias have their long range bombing base at the Malvinas, wich due to being in the middle of a warzone cant be reached by conventional means, so an operation is made. General Pinochet has its sights in Malvinas, so he sends operation Caleuche, an operation carried out by both regular and the chilean Black Berrets, a full division of 30000 men with anphibious tanks, air support by the two old american carriers, already decommisioned but able of helicopter and jet take off, USS Independence (CVA 62), USS Essex (CVS 9) renamed the CS-Arturo Pratt and the CS-Valdivia. At 2200 nighttime the naval invasion began. two smaller forces were send as decoys towards Cerro Cove and Port Mitre, arround 5000 troopers each, the main force landed in Port Argentino (Formerly Port Stanley). by 300 the port had fallen under chilean hands, sending the message directly via Telegraph (didnt wanted to be realized by the Argentinians) towards "LIMA MAIK" (LM), a phrase marked on chilean memory.

January 8th, 1986 - Rio Gallegos "Frontline Delta"
The advance in Argentina has began, three weeks after operation Caleuche chilean troops were in a siege of the city of rio Gallegos, in other parts of the frontline like "Frontline Alfa" chilean 2nd armored division took the city of salta after the "battle of the desert mountains", and with several chilean victories the Paraguayan dictator Alfredo Stroessner wanted to recuperate the Formosa region, so in what's called the "Deal of the devils" both general Pinochet and Dictator Stroessner got to an alliance, meanwhile in Uruguay the country was given an Ultimatum by Argentina, either to join them or be invaded, due to argeninian desperation by the backfire of operation soverania. In frontline Bravo they advanced from Mendoza towards Villa Maria, and now were advancing towards the city of Cordoba, the movement was so swift even chilean commanders thought of it as a trap, so they did a terrible act, like the bombings of Dresde they threy everything they had against Cordoba, causing it being reduced to rubbles, this act tried to be covered up by the chilean press but sooner or later it was discovered, this set fire to the spark of the guerrilla in Chile known as the FPMR (Patriotic Front Manuel Rodriguez) who decided to overthrow the dictator as soon as the war was over. And last but not least, Frontline Charli, against all odds, the 1st and 3rd armored divisions managed to split Argentina in two, in a tactic no seen since the Blitzkrieg of Guderian in the 1940's General Torres (Not an actual General) led an ofensive that went from Bariloche to Puerto Madryn in two months, this operation was nicknamed "Operacion persiguiendo a Hitler" due to the popular myth of Hitler's escape to Argentina.
January 12th, 1986 - Santiago de Chile
by the aniversary of this war, Pinochet decides to "celebrate". So he sends from the captured city of Cordoba a massive bombing of Buenos Aires, both by bombers and jet fighters, this battle called "The battle of Malos Aires" sees the chilean duo of Goliath and Gringo drop a payload of several bombs over the palace of Casa Rosada, that kills mostly of the argentinian goverment, not by direct bombs, but because one of the bombs did a lucky drop directly at the entrance of the special bunker of the palace, blowing the door and killing everyone inside, not leaving even ashes but only metal belongings like watches and medals. This sees the goverment crippling and its a decisive blow to the Argentinians.
The reason why the Argentinian Air Force didnt did a similar operation was due to their defeat in the air war in the Andes Range and the several SAM sites hidden in the mountains, an idea that was supposed to help them did nothing but stop them from reaching the victory
after this Day, the war of the strait has his days numbered.

This leads to an early campaign of the SI and NO in 1986, but with the question "Should the goverment change in Chile?" with an unanimous YES by the chilean people, except the high classes.
April 8th, 1986 - Mendoza, Argentina
Newly Ellected president Patricio Aylwyn and president Raúl Alfonsin meet in the city to the "Treaty of the brothers" both presidents admit this war was "Highly unnecesary and painful". Both reach the in a long lasting peace and a alliance to stop a war again in the future, They create a counterpart to the EU and NATO for South america, called the Brothers Pact. This is a military and economic Alliance between Uruguay, Argentina and Chile, that declares a reconstruction economy and a nationalization of foreign industries to begin growing again, they stablish a common currency, the "Peso Aliado", because the Pesos of Chile, Argentina and Uruguay became almost obsolete due to inflation, Paraguay's dictator dies of a fatal stroke, and with most medics still in a frontline the dictator dies a week before the treaty, this leaves Paraguay on the ways to become a democracy too.
April 8th, 1988 - Nuevos Aires, Argentina
The capital was being reconstructed, the Casa Rosada was being reconstructed as the Casa Libre, with a new White color with Red roof. Two years since the war and the alliance has become almost complete, until this year a social scientist by the name of Jose Maria Guiller proposes the Patagonia Union, a unification between the four countries, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. This idea becomes extremely popular between the countries, due to a feeling of mutual compassion between the four nations
June 15th, 1988 - The South Cone
An ellection takes place in the four countries, that ends in a 87% of aproval between the countries.

after several drafts of a constitution the four nations come to a final writting, where the four nations reach an accord.

Secondary industries are tourism, Agriculture and Lumber. The capital of the country is decided via a ellection, as well as the president. the alliance of the brothers is soon to gain more members.
Due to this pact most revolutions and rebellions are stopped, for a wish of peace, in neighbouring countries

the Patagonian Inter Stellar Agency (Agencia de Vuelo Inter Estelar Patagonica) is founded in May, and becomes a direct challenger, setting several Satellites and its own telescope, thanks to the Atacama Observatory they discover a Galaxy which is called after the man who discovered it, Fabián Linderos.

the Patagonian Science Organization signs a investigation treaty with China in order to develop biological cures to several undiscovered viruses, stopping before its even spreaded a lethal yet slept virus they called Tue-Tue 19, As well as its variants.

The first cooperational operation manages to land an American-Patagonian ship called the "Skywalker" that lands the first two men in mars. American Astronaut Howard Armstrong and Patagonian Astronauta Laura Benavidez. They set the first step towards a more united world setting sights on space exploration.
