Jesus they really are straight up just going to re-do the entire mod in the next update huh.
Hearing you having connections to a grandson to one of the potential leaders in the mod made me really wish that my own grandparents gets featured in the mod as well somewhere in the State of Guangdong. With my grandmother featured in an event showing the bakery that her family used to own in OTL, and my grandfather being the leader of a failed state that a socialist uprising can trigger due to his real life radical centrist views (Both the communist and nationalist trade unions at the fish market that he used to work in tried recruiting him before the 1967 leftist riots, he told them to F off). The closest I came to sending the mod to someone who is alive is when I sent it to General Spinola (status quo successor to Franco) grandgrandson, who is a personal friend of mine. He liked the route to get him but he's sad his ancestor doesn't have a tree yet.
Just like with KR, I will say that this is one of the reasons that I have not actively playing the mod as much as I used to. After all, I am a bit of a perfectionist, and would like to experience the 'final' version of a product, so that when I emotionally invest into the setting and develop my head canon, it will be the 'official' version. With all the changes being made, I find myself wanting to wait until it is all done and finalized until experiencing everything, and that I have found myself experiencing more of the TNO world's lore via reading the localization files instead of actually playing the mod itself.Jesus they really are straight up just going to re-do the entire mod in the next update huh.
He is fairly young after all, just being born in 1936 meaning that he would be just 3 years old when the Nazis conquered Poland. Why not someone more senior?
Yazov marching through the Reich:Well, his father - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jędrzej_Giertych was alive until 1992 and was also far-righter, apparently more radical than his son, because he directly compared his movement to the ones led by Hitler and Mussolini, though to be fair to Jędrzej Giertych that comparison was before war, when no one knew what Hitler was exactly up to. Still, I think that the Polish State and NSZ-ZJ should be UltraNat not Despotist, but not in some variation - "hehe bootleg Nazis doing Nazi things without calling it Nazi" but more like Omsk - the people pushed to extreme means by very dire situation.
Poland in TNO is too moderate given the destruction it experienced. "Nil" Fieldorf if he models his government after Sanacja (as his bio states) should be Despotist at game-start, because late Sanacja was similar to TNO's despotism anyway and the situation would not allow "Nil" to introduce any form of democracy.
NSZ-ZJ should be UltraNat, after 20 years of continued German occupation IMHO they'd be ANGRY, but not care much about Jews and gypsies (Germans already took care about them) with antisemitism being greatly downplayed, appearing only from time to time, but they'd hate Germans with zeal that would make Yazov proud.
Yazov marching through the Reich:
"Sir, we have found some new allies. They hate the Teutons more than us."
So, he's a priest and I did show him some stuff he he has not sat down and played a campaign, so I sent to the Youtuber LSLgaming the route to get Spinola and asked him to make a campaign to get him and turn into a video for me to send to him.Huh, that's interesting. What are Spinola's grandson's thought on the Iberian content in general?
Look what I found todayWho is the most corrupt president besides adhemar ?
I wonder how things will play after the Iberians left that place. A regional power, maybe? Assuming that the post-colonial state has a series of sane leaders and truly cares about its people, unlike its OTL counterpart. You know something that I just realized? As messed up as the world of TNO might be... There is ONE place in the setting that is objectively better off compared to OTL, despite it being under authoritarian rule: Equatorial Guinea
In OTL, from 1968-1979, the former Spanish colony was under the rule of Francisco Macías Nguema, perhaps the closest real-life example we have of a country operating under the Burgundian System besides Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge. In fact, I think that Nguema can be seen as a real-life Taboritsky... Minus the chemical weapons, more even more morally reprehensible (Since unlike Tabby's Imperial Cult, Nguema's tyranny was not even justified by some sort of deus ex machina utopian end state), in that he was a leader that is insane, not in the sense of 'So evil to the point that normal human beings have a hard time comprehend their thought process', but literally insane as in 'clinically diagnosed to be insane by medical professionals'.
Long story short, under Nguema, Equatorial Guinea ended up becoming the only country in all of Africa with no teacher, no electricity, banned the use of modern medicine, declaring himself to be above god, and having the entire population villages being routinely raped and killed just to eliminate one suspected dissident, to the point of the country under his rule being nicknamed 'The Dachau of Africa', with the place being compared to a concentration camp in terms of its brutality.
By comparison, in TNO, as a colony/overseas provinces of Iberia, Equatorial Guinea would ironically end up being one of the most stable parts of Africa, with the Iberians setting up electrical infrastructure in the area in one of the earliest focuses at the start of the game, also, during the South African War, OFN would use the territory to launch covert black ops against the RKs. Even in the even of Iberia collapsing into civil war, the colony would simply be taken-over by Orungu, which from what little we know, seems to be a 'normal' post-colonial state for the most part.
Just an interesting thought that I wanted to share.
According to TVTropes, it seems like that Francisco Macías Nguema can still end up coming into power in Orungu, in the even of a max level African Devastation in the aftermath of Hutting's Riechstatt collapsing. And seeing as that if Iberia collapse into civil war, Orungu would annex Equatorial Guinea by overrunning the now weakened Iberian colonial garrison... Yeah, things can be bad. But I honestly do see how things can get worst compared to OTL. With most likely outcomes actually being better for the country.I wonder how things will play after the Iberians left that place. A regional power, maybe? Assuming that the post-colonial state has a series of sane leaders and truly cares about its people, unlike its OTL counterpart.
Makes snese, given his ties to various Far-Right movements in the interwar period, especially his affiliation with the NSDAP during the war.Taboritsky is now fash at the start/before he becomes an EsoNat.
