The New Order: Last Days of Europe Thread II

I just hope they don't sanitize Hall and bend over to the clowns within the fanbase who whine that the LNPP ought to be a "blessed path" because no way their holsum 100 revolution could ever be a shitty failstate.
My suggestion would be to add entirely new Socialist and Fascist paths that are only available following a successful Harrington or Smith administration, where the groundwork has been laid for the US to shift further to the left or right, probably in 1976. Short of a coup or civil war, transforming the US into a genuinely socialist or fascist government would require a lot of work. Hall and Yockey should remain as they are: an extremist tearing the country apart in the name of their ideology.

Personally, the sense I always got with Hall was that he was a decent guy who was nice to people, but who also was a bootlicking slave to Moscow. I think his ideology would be more independent than OTL, but I think he could be reasonably blessed in the sense that he has decent-ish ideas, but I really don't see him as a successful leader.

If I were writing TNO, I'd probably write Hall as being effectively a well-meaning layman unable to manage a structure far more complex than the CPUSA, which could lead to a lot of trouble and mistakes.

I feel like he sees himself as a new Lenin but he's more of a dangerously incompetent buffoon.

I think even "well-intentioned but dumb" is a tad too kind for Hall. That could be more used to describe Neville Chamberlain when he thought Appeasement could prevent another war in Europe.
Even without a USSR for Hall to simp for, when looking at how other Communist revolutions have panned out I see Hall's scheme would entail the obliteration of political freedoms and rights to cement and uphold the primacy of the LNPP/CPUSA so it can force down it's vision unchecked.

In b4 "Hall best path now"

The lavender scare was honestly very interesting as it showed very directly how terrible Hall would be and neutered the spy agencies in the middle of the cold war

Hall isn't really a revolutionary, though? He's an elected president working largely within the US system and limited by that same system. He's limited in ways that revolutionaries wouldn't be.

I meant that once in power he would try everything to undermine the system (I hate to invoke recent politics, but I guess we may consider what 45's most stringent critics accused of his administration) because from Hall's perspective his election is the golden opportunity to converting the US into a Communist state, he'd not stand idle for this "progress" to be possibly reversed back to Liberalism in the next election cycles.

He came.
