Kaiserreich: Legacy of the Weltkrieg

This may be the Kaiserreich thread and since I don't think we have one on this site for Red World, I'll be mentioning it here.

Less than twelve hours ago it was reported by his cousin that Kaiser1871, developer of a number of HoI4 mods (most notably one of my favorites, Red World), passed away in an automobile accident last October. The details have been ripped from the Discord to Reddit, but the full statement for those who can't get to either platform right now is as follows:

"Hey everyone. My names Sam and I'm Tom's (Kaiser) cousin. Last October Tom was killed in a car accident and since then I have been searching for/testing out passwords for his accounts. I know Red World and modding was insanely important to him as his only hobby outside of work and so it was important to me to let all of you guys know why he seemingly disappeared. I also helped him work on a couple event chains for the mod in my spare time, so you've all played my tiny contribution. Unfortunately i haven't been able to find a passwords list that he used to have. It could have possibly been taken from his home when it was burgled a couple weeks after his death but there hasn't been any activity on his other accounts as far as I'm aware. So it's taken until now for me to successfully rack my brain and think of potential passwords. I know this is terrible news and will be extremely saddening for a lot of you, but I also absolutely know that Tom would have wanted you guys to finish what he created as like I said he was always super passionate about it. I won't be available for any questions as I'm ridiculously busy and at this point I never even expected to get the password right after trying almost every day. But all I have to say is if you want to make him happy up there, then work on the mod and make it as good as you possibly can. :extremelyhappy:

This is a great loss to the modding community, not to mention many of the people whose work he has influenced and those close to him.

After losing a run as Democratic Guatemala (Pancho Villa invaded right after I established Central American Confederation) I started to play as Portugal and unfortunately I must say that their content is rather basic.

There will be some sort of rework of Portugal along with the Spain rework. Who knows when that is gonna happen though.

I still wonder why it was decided to remove the syndicalist and/or democratic options after losing the Mittelafrikan War in favour of adding in an absolutist path.

IMO they could add an AuthDem constitutional monarchy path and do something with the National Syndicalism as either an alternative NatPop path or a Totalist one.

Hooray! The Graphics overhaul of Kaiserreich is letting me in! A pity no one has updated Red World for the latest version though as I enjoyed that mod.

On the Vanilla Game I want to try and obtain the "My Ships Don't Lie" Achievement and, hopefully, form Gran Colombia while playing as Colombia; anyone got any strategy ideas for me?

Why does the UoB government banning the Liberals and Labour and dissolving the Parliament remind me of how the Bolsheviks shut down the Constituent Assembly the day it was convened after the SRs won elections for the Constituent Assembly?
parallelism? Not sure, not involved with the development. but from what I have seen it looks like it will be even more fun then the current UoB. :)

But yeah, you could see why one could see parallels between how the UoB responded to Liberals and Labour winning big in the Provincial Parliament and how the Bolsheviks responded to the SRs being the dominant party in the Constituent Assembly?

If any Internationale state should be a one-party regime, it should be France.

I maintain that France should start as a Nazbol regime, and that Britain should be the more functional democracy. I DO think that they should include big segments of socdem, soclib, and pataut support in the starting wheel, with a mechanic where Mosley "converts" the right-wing vote to totalist support with naked English nationalism to reinforce the "red fascist" nature of his ideology and regime, and I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to a "reformist" socdem option.

I would definitely focus more on the TUC Congress, with each result having different gameplay options and being based on a larger series of events and decision trees. For example:
  1. Mosley focuses on state transformation, buildup for war, and making himself Eternal Leader.
  2. Horner/orthodox syndie option focuses on exporting the revolution by supporting socialism abroad and suborning Germany's world system.
  3. Mann/the compromise syndie option focuses on balancing domestic political interests (this is basically a hard-mode option there for flavor and fun).
  4. Kenney/the pacifist syndie option focuses on delaying WK2, strengthening Internationale collaboration, and avoiding war without caving to threats.
  5. y Glais/the radsoc option focuses on more esoteric anarchist theory, keeping the regionalism but focusing on a cultural revival program that strengthens each constituent of the Union with national spirits even as it decentralizes.
  6. A theoretical socdem option would try to offer concessions to a democratic and left-leaning Canada to end the stupid pissing match and allow exiles who aren't wanted for any crimes to come back peacefully.
Meanwhile France gameplay would be basically about Faure and Makhno leading anarchist resistance to the increasingly totalitarian and somewhere-between-Stalin-and-Strasser regime of the Sorellians, culminating in a power struggle late in 1936 that basically prevents France from jumping Germany while its puppets are all revolting and its economy is fucked. Makhno and Faure would democratize the nation and focus on building a defensive-minded military, while the nazbols would focus on purging opposition and building an all offense military to hit Germany as hard as possible.

Either way, I'm not fond of this change. The UoB is one bit of legacy lore that I think should be kept and worked with, rather than discarded like the old China lore (which tbh needed to go and we're better without because new China rocks).

Attlee or Bevan? Also, a Pollitt-led path ala the Jacobins in France (both the UoB and SRI should have Jacobin-esque paths) should be there as well.

I disagree, the SRI politics are IMO interesting and fine as-is. The Jacobins could be part of the anti-Sorellian bloc that then makes a play for their own power?

I am not sure about everything being planned for the UoB, but I do believe that there is more going on and more paths then the three that UoB has now. Could be wrong though. But still this was just a tease on reddit, I recommend waiting till the Dev Diary itself comes out and the Devs are willing to reveal more information.

Oh yeah just realised new foundland is a place what happened to it?
According to the KR wiki, a 1926 referendum saw a majority for confederation. Given that some of the pressures that led to a reversion to colony in OTL would still have existed in KR, perhaps even exacerbated, this does not seem impossible in the context of the immediate post-Revolution environment.
