Is Obama some rare Irish surname?

He's an author and a federal judge in Illinois. I can't see him being successful as a politician. He looks goofy (skinny with big ears), speaks with a halting cadence, and while it's unfair, his middle name is Hussein and that would give people a bad vibe.

Props for picking someone obscure and unlikely, though.

Yeah, I remember seeing Professor Obama in something or another on PBS awhile back. A great Constitutional scholar, but I cannot see this guy ever as a successful retail politician. No way he could have ever captured the imaginations of a large number of people, or inspired hope in them.
