It's true they're very interesting but I don't know if it could happen in the Roman Empire. Its society was very patriarchal and I doubt a goddess would've had preeminence over male gods like Jupiter or Mars.

But these cults were very popular in the empire, the cult of Isis extended to Hispania. If the emperors had sponsored them enough, it could easily have replaced Christianity.

Maybe it reforms to become similiar to Christianity in spreading the message and convinces non Hellenic Egyptians to join before Christianity kicks in.
