About

Deblano is a resident of Fairfax County, Virginia and is currently attending George Mason University with a major in Geography (specifically focusing on geospatial/Geographic Information Systems) and a minor in Intelligence Analysis. He is typically a fan of Cold War history, Cold War alternate history, and in general geopolitical topics involving directly Russia, especially in light of the 2014 Crimean Crisis.

Political Views

Deblano identifies himself as a Liberal Republican (He does not call himself a Rockefeller Republican though due to his disagreement with Rockefeller's tough drug laws as Governor). However, he tends to be more pro-business and classically liberal than prominent liberal republicans throughout history.

Deblano describes himself as “fiscally center-right” with regards to lowering corporate taxes, favoring tax credits as an alternative to raising the minimum wage (but he also supports wage experimentation throughout individual states), and pro-free trade to the point where he has accused the Democratic and Republican nominees of being too protectionist.

On foreign policy, Deblano describes himself as a “Realist”, supporting “what the experts are saying”

On social issues, Deblano describes himself as pro-choice, pro-Criminal Justice reform, pro-Climate Change action and he also describes himself as “VERY pro-LGBT rights”. He says his liberal views on gay rights were strengthened due to his interactions on AlternateHistory.com, which has a notable LGBT userbase.. His strongly and proudly socially progressive views have caused some disagreements with more socially conservative members, but in general has close friendships with the fellow members of the Second Cordial Conservatives Club
