GURPS terms

Some more from GURPS Alternate Earths I and II, but I'm not sure whether these are noteworthy:

jactavolans = rocket glider (Roma Aeterna, Latin)

Several from Ezcalli, Nahuatl:

  • steamcar = ayotololohtli
  • ironclad = tepozchimalacalli
  • galleon = hueiacalli
  • flintlock gun = weilekih/hueitlequiquiztli (long fire shell trumpet)
  • cannon = cuauhtlin (derived from the words for tree and fire)
  • grapeshot = beanshot (probably because America lacks grapes, but has beans)

wheellock gatling gun = divine hailstorm of many pearls (from Mandarin, Ming-3)

Several from Midgard (can't tell whether this is Danish, Norse or Swedish):

  • East Indiaman = serkknarr (saracen knarr)
  • firearms = surtsspjóts (Surt's spears)
  • blunderbuss = tyrsropi (Tyr's belch)
