Carrying from the ASB map thread, which are two maps of the American Mediterranean, here's the two Tibets in the same world as them, separated by the Jinsha River.

West Tibet, or the State of Tibet (capital: Lhasa), is a theocracy led by two monarchs: the Dalai Lama (XIV) and the Panchen Lama (XI). The nation is notorious for corruption since West Tibet is an absolute monarchy, but is largely peaceful with a minimal self defense force.
East Tibet, or the People's Republic of Tibet (capital: Barkam), is a socialist state, led by the Chairman of the Tibetan People's Congress (currently Xiang Qiu 尚秋). The nation used to be labelled as a Chinese Bantustan to deprive the Tibetans Chinese nationality (and the cities as well), but when China collapsed into three nations due to a Nationalist Russian invasion, East Tibet found an unlikely alliance with New Afrika, another nation founded by oppressed peoples.
Neither nation wishes to unite with the other due to perceived cultural differences. West Tibet sees East Tibet as godless bastards, while East Tibet does not want to be ruled by a theocratic government ruled by "reincarnated monks".
