Still both bomb bays. Bockscar had the Bomb in the forward bay, extra fuel tank in rearThe Enola Gay was a Silverplate ‘29. A modified version to carry nuclear warhead (the original B29 had two bomb bays, both of which were too small to carry the bombs).
That’s why I said malfunctioned. Imagine if the compass broke and he made a wrong turn and got to Hawaii.
And they'd be really lucky to fly in the exact direction of Hawaii. If they are that far off direction, it's more likely they fly somewhere where there is nog land.

How would he notice?
Again, a regular B-29. The Silverplate version had a longer range. About 500 miles longer if I recall.
More to the point, even with the extra range from the Silverplate mods, the distance to Hawaii is not just right at the very margins of range (i.e. one way) but well in excess of the combat radius (i.e. there and able to get home) of a B-29. That means they drop the bomb after flying for at least twice as long as they intended... All the planes' compasses buggering up is one thing, not a single watch or clock (or crews' vague sense of time) aboard any of the three aircraft working is quite another. If you're correct they go into the water 200 kilometres short of Hawaii. Same result.
However I don't think you're correct. Silverplate B-29s had provision for extra fuel but there's no need to add fuel to Enola Gay as they know how far away their target is and how much fuel is needed to get there. https://nuclearweaponarchive.org/Usa/EnolaGay/EnolaGay.html
Assuming they get to Honolulu why would they drop a the bomb there?
It's possible. Stalin malfunctioned and accidentally attacked the Old Bolsheviks instead of Germany. This thread is superb
I am planning to create one called "Army group North Accidently attacks Berlin instead of Poland"
Tibbets is clearly a Nazi spy or a secret Japanese sympathizer.
Was there a thread about Japanese ninjas hijacking Enola Gay?It's 6226 kilometres from Tinian to Hawaii, My sources give the range of the B-29 with a 10 thousand point bomb load at 5230 kilometres. Paul Tibbett and his very lost crew will go into the water about 1000 kilometres short of Hawaii. This has to be the silliest post I've seen for some time.
Depends on how you define "bomb bay". The Silverplate removed the seperate doors and partition. Seperate attachments remained though.Still both bomb bays. Bockscar had the Bomb in the forward bay, extra fuel tank in rear
