WI:the Carolingian dynasty remained in power in France

so i was pondering about the rule of Charlemagne and his successors and how long they ruled in what is now France. the Carolingian dynasty had ruled the franks as a united kingdom since Pepin the short in 751. the Carolingian would continue to rule what will become France until 987 with the rise of the Capetian. that would be a span of 236 years which is quite impressive. however, i am curious what if they didn't fall and continue too rule France doesn't have to be any where else just France. what effects would that have i would assume it would still become France but would it be more connected to the HRE? what would the effects of a dynasty ruling the kingdom of France until say the Capetian possibly longer on the kingdom? it would be roughly a 500 year period of rule.
i would assume ensuring the Robertian family does not seize power for a bit helps.
i am really curious and i would find it interesting topic.
