IOTL, Vice President Al Gore swept the 2000 Democratic Primary, winning every state and soundly defeating New Jersey Senator Bill Bradley, who was his only primary challenger. But what if, through one means or another, Bradley pulled an upset and managed to clinch the Democratic nomination? Who would be a likely running mate? Would he be able to defeat George W. Bush (assuming he's still the GOP nominee), and if he did, what would his Presidency look like?

Possibilities for VP would be Gephardt, Bob Graham, maybe Evan Bayh. Basically Gore's VP shortlist minus Liebermann. Paul Wellstone (who IRC endorsed Bradley) is also a possibility. As for beating Bush, it depends on how much Clinton and a defeated Al Gore do for the ticket because Gore losing the nomination is in a way a rejection of Clinton, so they both might be bitter about it and not do much to help Bradley. So if Bradley getting nominated produces butterflies that make Bush even more gaffe prone than OTL and causes a worse run campaign than OTL, Bush probably defeats Bradley and has an easier time winning than he did OTL. Florida goes Bush by a bigger margin, and Wisconsin, New Mexico, and Iowa possibly go Bush as well. New Hampshire however likely goes to Bradley and Nader might to do worse in this TL.

In OTL Wellstone was exploring a run himself, but he decided not to, due to pain that would later be discovered to be due to his MS. He probably wouldn't agree to being placed on the ticket for that reason.
