The Yankee Dominion: A Map and World Building Project

Ah, thanks! So none of this is set in stone...
What has been determined about Germany? It is a Kaiserreich, and it had (or has?) a large colonial empire. I have also seen Mittelafrika mentioned, and New Guinea (and/or other Pacific areas).

What else is there on Germany?
Well, it's not implicitly set in stone, but with the thread up, I wouldn't make any major changes. I think @Oryxslayer has plans for Germany involving a second Great War IIRC. So I wouldn't tweak anything about them beyond the party system as of now.

I'm gonna develop New Guinea in the meantime.

There are two main languages in The Republic of New Guinea: German, and Pisin-Sprak, a German pidgin language that is used as a lingua franca.
The economy of New Guinea is better than OTL PNG (Papua New Guinea), and there is far less crime in the cities. Because of the beaches and profitable Bird-of-Paradise trade, German settlers are a sizable minority, mostly concentrated in the coasts. Most of these settlers speak the New Guinea dialect of German (known as Neu-Guinea Deutsch), which is closely related to Low Saxon and Prussian dialects in Metropolitan Germany. The majority of these settlers come from wealthy, even noble families. Thus, the German-speaking coastal areas are extremely wealthy, while the inland native areas are poorer and far more rural. The Republic still has strong ties to the Reich, and is a very popular tourist destination, with flights from Berlin and Hamburg to Humboldtstadt (OTL Jayapura) and Herbertshöhe (OTL Kokopo) happening almost everyday in the wintertime.

@Oryxslayer any suggestions?

Can I still assist in this?

KP 69/710 [In Government Coaltion] in Reichstag
Right-Wing (German Nationalism, Social Conservatism, Pro-Monarchism)

Would this be "Konservative Partei"? "Katholikenpartei"?

The oldest operating party in Germany. The SDP was formed in 1863.

So SDP instead of SPD - "Sozial-Demokratische Partei"? Maybe SDPD?

Supporting Parties:
PDS [Opposition] 71/710 in Reichstag
Left-Wing, Far-Left (Democratic Socialism, Left-Wing Populism, Anti Capitalism, Anti Monarchism)

Founded in the late 1980s as an alternative to the SDP. Much stronger views on socialism has found popularity among SDP voters and former Communist voters. Saw a huge surge in 2011 only to stagnate later.

Cool and excellent! Why only founded in the 1980s?

PPP 54/710 in Reichstag
Centre, Centre-Right (Republicanism, Classical Liberalism)

Formed in the 1910s in attempts to reform the Reich to reduce power to the Kaiser and establish a President in place of the Kaiser. Successfully pushed to increased the size of the Reichstag from 440 to 710 in the 1940s and pushed for MMP reform in the voting system in the 1970s. A major goal is a referendum to abolish/weaken the monarchy which is more unpopular than popular in Germany.

What does PPP stand for? A very well thought-out party, anyway!

Communist Party 14/710
Far-Left (Marxism)

A Typical communist party with an unpopular past in Germany.

Have we established anything on Germany's history, e.g. why the KPD(?) has "an unpopular past"? After all, there was no communist dictatorship in East Germany ITTL.

No complaints from me
Awesome, I'll wait for a few others if we have any last minute suggestions, but I think mashing all of the lists together into the one I made should satisfy everyone.

I am cool with that! I mostly care about Germany, maybe Europe and German (former) colonies, but not too much about the Commonwealth.
Like I said, I'd leave the history of Germany alone until everyone knows the history of Europe through the 1940s, but you're welcome to create cultural or current infoboxes about Germany. Germany's parties have been already been made, but once the history of Germany is established, then you could really dive into Germany. That would be welcomed, actually, because it will break up the Commonwealth focus and keep everyone's attention.

You should scroll through the original thread if you have the time, it'll show you what's done and what's missing. I think Oryxslayer has been working hard on the history of the world, so I'm pretty adamant that he be the one to deal with that on such a subject.

Thanks for your assistance. However, how can I help establish any sort of history? Only with you? With people that have already contributed? Who must be notified etc. etc.?

Then I'll watch this thread for now and cooperate with @Oryxslayer

What governments are there in Europe? Germany is a constitutional monarchy, but what about other nations? Is there any established map/list/anything on forms of governments?

Here's something I've been working on - the world map with the DCS colour scheme:

LCFiipE.png

Most of it is completed, except Central Asia and East Asia, where I am not 100% sure what each of the countries are. I've been staring at it too long so if anyone has any suggestions/clarifications I'll continue working on it later.

Konservative Partei
Cool and excellent! Why only founded in the 1980s?
Party of Democratic Socialisim was founded because the SDP moved to the political centre in the 80s

Progressive Peoples Party. Its based of the irl party of the same name

Decredited after being part of a coaltion government in the 60s and the early 90s. Was disastrous in government and became extremely unpopular.

By the way, I did search for the word "Germany" and all posts that included the word were either:

a) about nations "similar to Germany" geopolitically (or with similar interests in a specific geopolitical situation)
b) about being allied "to Germany" (e.g. in the case of Brazil - I love a German-Brazilian alliance, @Nazi Space Spy et al.!)
or c) what to me seemed non-canon talk where Germany could have colonies and so on.
I do love the idea of German Australia or German New Guinea or something. Not that I am against your ideas, but I want to contribute to them more without "waiting". Waiting has led to me missing out on German parties for example (even if I have to say that @Riley Uhr did well on them, and I have only few questions remaining)

I think the government types of a lot of nations are undecided. On the map above I coloured Spain as a republic, France as a republic and Italy as a monarchy.
