I've seen enough "North Korea in Britain" treatments. It is far more frightening if one can make the Party's words true.
It is actually scary how easy it was to write this.
Seconded heartily. While the NK in GB treatment is more realistic, it's so common that I've grown sick of it, and the Party's word being true is a much darker approach. I approve of this work very much.
Good analysis. Very well written, and just plausible enough to be disturbing.
One of the most enjoyable things I have read in awhile. If watching the world degrade into an Orwellian hell is enjoyable. Good job.
Terrifying. I only wish I had had this much imagination. (Anything like the book would have to start in the 'thirties, wouldn't it?) I especially like how Ingsoc started out as a fascist, not socialist, movement. Well done, sir or madam!
Here's my map of the scenario.
Having re-read this several times now, I've come to the conclusion that it's now one of my favourite TLs - well done, indeed!
Thank you, thank you. Your timeline is very good as well.
Damnit, you stole the same idea I had been planning and procrastinating for the better part of a year. Nice work though. It's probably for the best, since I'm woefully unlearned in Anglo-American PoDs. However so as to not let my work go to waste, I will still post my own studies of Eastasia and to a lesser extent Eurasia, which will unfortunately have to contradict your account, eps. in the case of the former superstate) when they are finished.
I wonder if your teacher is thinking "holy shit this guy is a genius", "holy shit I have to read 55 pages of fanwankery", or a combination of the two.
Why? FillerWell, I didn't see a way for Britain to go socialist, and Fascism is very socialist economically. I thought that Fascism was the only logical route.
