In the final hours of May 1, 2011, the U.S. President announced that Osama bin-Laden has been killed in commando raid in his compound in Abottabad, Pakistan. The United States and the world erupted in celebration and congratulated the current administration as it dealt a blow on the ten-year long War on Terror. It was one of the defining moments of the early 2010s which would then be overshadowed by the Great Panic two years later.
