Getting this thread back on track, here's every state renamed based on it's GDP compared to the 2020 QSR Top 50 fast food chains. For example, California is #1 in GDP, so it gets the #1 restaurant in sales (McDonald's).View attachment 618983Sources:

Missouri needs to give back our goddamn Whataburger! The fact that they have it is a travesty

New Mexico, unsurprisingly, has a chain I can't even remember hearing of.

Slowly approaching "getting done" on some projects (since the inauguration passed with no violence, my stress levels have gone down some.)

This map only needs a bit more work...

...as does this cover.

Another language map WIP, this one is c. 2900 BCE, just before the Bell Beaker phenomenon started

This map is of the actual languages, and there are too many to actually name, although I will say that the languages spoken in Sicily at this point are early forms of Sicanian (north) and Elymian (south).

This is a map of the language families.

And this is the map of language families again, but this time at a higher level of classification
I already know what the language families are; I'll include a key whenever this is completed

The Korean Peninsula:

Dark red marks the original pre-war territory of North Korea (DPRK), while light red marks the territory gained by them after the 1953 armistice.
Dark blue, meanwhile, marks original pre-war territory of South Korea (ROK), while light blue marks the territories gained by them after the 1953 armistice.
Fun fact: Kaesong (inside light-red territory) was the only major city to have changed hands after the war.

Everyone had to do a Decades of Darkness cover once, so this is a WIP of the one I'm working on.

My alt-USA was less willing to annex populous chunks of Latin American countries, with a racialized "White Manifest Destiny" school of thought having won the day (in OTL, this was a prominent line of thinking in the mid-1800s USA, that won against things like the All Mexico movement). In the real DoD, the expansionist ideas won the day, but it's easy to imagine alt-USA pursuing a different path.

Bonus points for anyone that can identify the two rivers that (along with latitude lines) comprise the America-Canada boundary.

That would be the Columbia and the Mississippi wouldn't it?

The Snake River in the west and the Delaware in the east?

Here's a new, experimental project! Once more, this is for the Hearts of Iron IV mod The New Order: Last Days of Europe. This one, though is following a hypothetical scenario involving France and none other than SS Ordenstaat Burgund itself, and how it would implode without either global nuclear Armageddon, Hermann Goering winning the German Civil War, or a Reinhard Heydrich outcome. The DeviantArt version can be found here.

While this map doesn't really have much in the way of proper lore, I wanted nonetheless to see how I could try to change things up a bit more, whether through aesthetics, the gif format, or the effects. That being said, the borders and general colors should give an indication as to what happened both in Burgundy and the rest of Europe.

At any rate, this is a work of fiction. This is not a political or ideological screed. Depiction is not endorsement. All rights belong to their respective owners.

All the same, hopefully you enjoy this as much as I had making it!

----

The Crisis itself and its initial breakdown is a reference to the "Burgundian Civil War" event in the Scions of Darkness submod. As for the colors:
  • Purple is Heinrich Himmler's SS-Burgund
  • Light Purple is Bert Eriksson's SS-Langemarck/Vlaamse Nationale Staat
  • Gold is Léon Degrelle's SS-Waloonien/Belgian National Union
  • Teal is Christian de La Mazière's SS-Charlemagne/Nouvel État Français
  • Red is Henri Grouès' socialist Red Poppy Movement
The last outcome is a nod to TNO: Rising From the Ruins, hinting to the GO4 winning out in Germany.

The glitching effects were done through Photomosh.

Here's a follow up map of the US Années Douces in the 1980s. Are shown the Native Territories, that are under the Bureau of Native Affairs (now mostly self-managed by the Natives themselves) but mostly work as counties-reservations. Reservations still exist to some extent, but most of them have been transformed into NTs. Didn't label them cuz it'd have been a pain
