TheHombre, is any form of communism, socialism or any other radical left ideologay of any importance ITTL? And was there an American Civil War ITTL? Maybe between monarchists and republicanists?
Dat Maghreb.
And the map to go with:
More like associated states. Kind of like how Australia and New Zealand are allies of NATO, but not in NATO.Pretty map, but “Holy Alliance and allies”? Wouldn’t there inherently be no allies to the Holy Alliance? Because… they’d just all be part of the Alliance…
Now that reminds me of needing to work on my own Medieval America scenario. Fantastic as always, Bee, especially that basemap. Real pretty.WiP I'm semi stuck on. Trying to medieval + stereotypes.

Wasn't meant to be post apocalyptic.Seems like After the End.

To be fair, I wasn't going for 100% accuracy on this one, just more Rule of Cool. Mostly because it was more practice with the GIMP style of mapmaking, plus a take on the idea of a Napoleonic victory. Which means, then, that I want to preserve some sort of Napoleon-esque look and feel to the world, even if it doesn't make 100% sense. Plus a Danubian Federation is just cool.Perhaps rephrase as "Holy Alliance proper and allies"?
This sentence
while pushing their affairs toward the East and the quagmire that is China, seeking to gain a greater foothold than Britain or her ally China.
probably requires a "Japan" in it somewhere.
Very nice map and scenario, but the "Danubian Federation" seems a touch iffy as written. That's not a nation-state, but a multi-national empire up to the 1840s point, run by the German House of Habsburg (or so I assume). Austria was pretty solidly dominated by the German minority until quite late in its history, and rather than reforming as a Happy Shiny Federation, the most likely result of an 1840s revolutionary period is that it either falls apart or stays together, like OTL, by brute force and quite likely Russian assistance. (Not that a democratic revolutionary movement arising against the Habsburgs and being So Cool that even the Hungarians won't want to break up the act is impossible, but I wouldn't put my betting money that way).
Frankly, it would make more sense to me to put Danubia in the Russian camp and the Ottomans in the French one. (The Habsburgs have a number of reasons to be pissed at the French). Or have AH break up and the different bits have different alliances. (Hungary pro-French, and perhaps Bohemia pro-Russian because the nationalists in the German republic eye the Sudetenland hungrily).
On the third hand maybe Austria holds together by brute force sans Russian assistance, and decades later ends up moving into the French camp because it has slowly democratized or because it has ended up on the outs with the Russians because of its mistreatment of the Orthodox and/or Slavic minorities (perceived, anyway) or some such.
(Just my 2 cents).

Thank you! And it's not like I quite agree with the republic, it's just more a French invention than the Dutch. Though everyone in Holland quite likes it.Republic of Holland? The other Provinces would like to have a word with you.
And, that's a good quality map you made, even if I disagree with the above republic.
I'm guilty of the same sin, but admittedly my Danubians are communists who did away with nationalism at gunpoint.
Here are assorted maps from a fantasy world I'm making. I don't know what to say about it to help explain them.
