Just a somewhat older map showing the division of Mongol lands between the sons of Chingiz (and his daughters/their husbands as well).

Clearly I need to work on making the labeling clearer.

...sooo...a Not So Great Mongol Empire?

Here's a WIP. Its the 2012 map of For Empire and Liberty: A Tale of a Federated British Empire.
PoD? Someone appears and shoots Lord North in 1774. Yeah, its ASB, but I have put thought in it, so you can ask questions.

Germany has advanced into the Baltic States and have created new states. Though Tsarist Russia has successfully crushed the revolution, many communists now reside in Latvia and Estonia. Germany has created Poland. However, Poland is highly Militarized. Two Months after the successful German invasion, Russia signed a peace treaty which gives Germany some military bases in Finland. This is almost an outrage throughout Russia.

Austria and Hungary seperated. They both decided to seperate the land that was set out for them, through the Kingdoms boundaries during Austria-Hungary. Austria has advanced into Russia with the Germans to establish a foothold on the border. Hungary is currently setting up in Romania.

Germany has successfully defeated the French, after the victory in Russia. A massive troop transfer took place, and the French were defeated. The Balkanization began. Several states were established but the French held onto the peninsula of Brittany. Germany gets the French Territories in North Africa, but lost all their original colonies in Africa.

Disclaimer: Not supposed to be super plausible, if it is please notify me. . . To make me feel better XD

The division of French Africa is really odd to me - France considered the Algerian coast you gave to Germany to be practically French in itself, and would probably prefer to give up the rest of Africa than surrender it.

Why is the California area still only a territory/dominion in 2012? I would expect it to be relatively densely populated.

Also, I presume South America is still "in progress"... same for Africa and Asia...

A 1984 map. Assumed PoD is D-Day failing. I made this more as an experiment on creating ethno-linguistic borders (which is how Eurasia and Eastasia do things) than an actual representation of the situation in the book. I used these two maps on the Linguistic Map Thread extensively.

That bit is still under progress, as well as North America, and yep, those three is WIP.

For the love of god no, a new confederacy would never work and would fall apart in years. Also why is Florida one independent state? If anything its northern half should have joined an independent Georgia.

Other than that my basic complaint is why this is done so cleanly along state borders?
a new south could easily exist if the USA colapsed. Past isnt always the same as what happens later in time.

Those German borders seriously beg for an explanation.

Well...the German states didn't come close to unification until well into the 20th century. Before that, Austria had been happy with the status quo and Prussia had been busy either a-conquering in the East or being pasted in the Second World War. After Prussia was squashed down to its current size after WWII, they turned their eyes to German nationalism. This spread across Germany, and combined with nascent communism to bring about a German socialist union, excluding the Austrian Empire. Outraged, the Austrians fostered rebellions in Germany bringing about a brutal civil war between Communists, Quasi-Fascists in Prussia, and Moderate Republicans. The Republicans won out and toppled the Austrians and the Communists, but the Prussians just managed to avoid conquest with the help of war weariness and bigass trenches. But that doesn't explain that Drang Nach Osten. The new democratic Germany pootled along nicely, until WWIII.

WWIII pitted Britain, France and Germany against Russia, China and other powers jealous specifically of Britain's empire. The Britano-Franco-Germans won, and while the British took down China, and France mostly helped take down their enemies in Africa, the Germans bore the brunt of the Russian invasion and occupied a vast swathe. After the war, the National Radicals the successors to the Quasi-Fascists to take over, refusing to withdraw from their occupation zone. They integrated their conquered land into the Reich, and began Germanifying the populace, and Romanticising a fictional past of Germanic and Norse heroes.

Here's a map of Europe in the same universe as my recent MoF entry. The year is 1934, and for those of you who don't want to read the long blurb, here's the basic rundown: CP victory in 1916 - peace no better than OTL, only reverse - Germany under nationalist rule - French republic teetering at the edge of a blade - Russia splits down the Urals - Britain under National Conservative (a fascist-esque spinoff of the main party) rule, and approaching détente with Germany - Austria bigger, slightly more stable but still madness - general grimdarkness ascending across Europe.

I have to wonder about Danish Jan Mayen and the expansion of Italian and German lands in Africa. Having the Rhienland as an independent Kingdom was a nice touch, though.

Jan Mayen was on the basemap. Germany gained colonies in Africa from France and Belgium by the peace treaty. The Italians exchanged British Somaliland and eastern Kenya for a border settlement in Libya favourable to Britain, guarantees of Ethiopian independence, removal of Italian claims on Malta and a small sum of money. The Rhineland was spun off after a plebiscite, since the mostly liberal Catholic population of the area didn't want to be ruled by militarist, nationalist, Protestant Prussia. It's actually a Free State (i.e. a republic), since no ruler accepted its new crown; its Minister-President functions as head of state, and the Landtag elects its representatives to the Bundesrat.
