What is the story about and where can I find it?
Unfortunately its unfinished. This actually my favorite althistory story. The story is about how New England of 2006 gets sent back in time to the year 1979, due to story's release, there are two Ted Kennedys (One from 1979 Washington, D.C. and the other from 2006 Boston). Also, the Iranian hostage crisis never happens because of this, and a 9/11 memorial is built at the original World Trade Center site. Star Wars Episode 7 starts production (Keep in mind that the story was written 9 years before The Force Awakens), a prequel to Babylon 5 begins filming as well as a show called Star Trek: Phase II, which i think was a prequel. Theres also a film called Cool Runnings, Reality that stars John Candy. And Sears and K-Mart merge into one. There was a thread where it talked about a New England of 2019 getting sent back to 1979 although that never really went anywhere besides discussions and what not.

A what-if scenario I thought about if the Japanese holdouts were a much greater force to fight a real insurgency in the decades following the official end of World War II.

After World War II, there were countless Japanese holdouts spread out in Asia and the Pacific. These holdouts continued to fight a guerrilla war against Allied or local security forces in the years following the Japanese surrender. These holdouts continued to fight either due to the fact they were unaware of the Empire's surrender to the Allied forces due to lack of radio or simply disbelieved it as allied propaganda. Some of the holdouts surrendered or died in combat while others joined several independence movements like the Viet Minh, Malayan Communist Party, and Parti Kommunist Indonesia. The last holdouts surrendered both laid down their arms on 1974. However, there were continued stories of Japanese holdouts emerging around the 1980s to 1990s, though it is likely the remaining Japanese nationals have long accepted the surrender and decided to live new lives in whatever place they remained.

How on Earth did a Northern Republican like Stassen win a Southern state like Arkansas?

How on Earth did a Northern Republican like Stassen win a Southern state like Arkansas?
Based on this quote on Stassen’s Wikipedia page: 'At the convention in Philadelphia, Osro Cobb, the then Republican state chairman in Arkansas, made a seconding speech for Stassen, having been motivated by Stassen's promise if nominated to campaign actively in the South. Cobb described the South as "the last frontier to which we can turn for substantial gains for our party – gains that can be held in the years to come. There is a definite affinity between the southern farmer and the grassroots Midwestern Republicans. ...Our party simply cannot indulge the luxury of a Solid South, handed on a silver platter to the opposition every four years...."'
Yeah I know it's a stretch, but eh. Since it's a four-way race/vote-splitting plus Stassen campaigning there, he is able to just take it (with the help of Osro Cobb of course).

Vote splitting I suspect.

Well, if Stassen somehow is able to win Arkansas, it's gonna be very narrowly by the skin of his teeth.

What if our Cartoon heroes were actually mob bosses?
Thomcrookinfobox.png

Thomas Jasper Barbera was one of the twentieth centuries most notorious Cat criminals. Born in New York Thomas grew up on the streets and eventually became an employee of Meowcha boss Felix Sullivan at the age of 15 in 1924. During the rest of the 1920's the Thompson Cat (as Thomas became known) served as Felix's bagman and assassin during the many mob wars of the period that occurred for control of the lucrative illegal Catnip trade during Catnip prohibition (1916-1930).

Following the Mog's decline after the end of prohibition Thomas quarrelled with Sullivan on the way forwards and in 1932 he broke with the Mog to former his own gang, "Dirty Work Inc." The two groups remained rivals for the rest of the 1930's and in conflict and competition with the Mouse Mafia (under Boss Mickey Disney and then Jerome Hanna from 1939) and the Quackal under Boss Donald Nash. Although the two groups coexisted uneasily peace was largely maintained by the threat of the other gangs until December 1939 when rising under boss Sylvester Frelung attempted to assassinate Sullivan in a disagreement over prostitution and canary smuggling profits.

Although Barbera proclaimed his lack of involvement documents found in the 1970's indicate he had already made contact with Frelung to sound him out about removing the aging Sullivan from power and replacing him with a commission headed by Barbera himself. It is believed by this point Barbera had realised he could never hope to rival the power of the Mog without either a long bloody gang war or a similar profitable event like prohibition as such he had decided to attempt to take over the Mog instead.

Refusing to believe Barbera was innocent Sullivan declared war on Dirty Work inc as well as Frelung's faction of the Meowcha. However it became clear Barbera had prepared for this war and in the three months that followed Dirty work inc murdered at least thirty Meowcha members even as the new boss of the Mouse mafia Jerome Hanna launched his own attack on Barbera's organisation in February. This event initiated the Hanna/Barbera conflict that lasted on and off until Barbera's assassination in 1967.

In spite of this distraction Barbera gained victory over the Meowcha when Under bosses Black Pete, Babbit and Catstello made contact in early March to sue for peace. With Sullivan increasingly unstable and killing his own men out of paranoia they had concluded that their future was brighter under a Barbera/Frelung leadership and on March 17th they led Sullivan into an ambush led by Barbara who is alleged to have used his signature weapon to end Sullivan's life (Sullivan's body was never recovered).

With the war over Barbera merged Dirty work inc and Meowcha and although offered the supreme leadership he opted to create a commission like structure similar to the American Mafia. Under this system Barbera was leader but Frelung, Black Pete, Babbit and Catstello all led their own autonomous "families" that controlled all crime in their own territories....

(and so it continues)

Edit: I can't spell!
