Medicare is the term used to refer to the public health insurance system of the United States. The American health care system consists of 50 state insurance plans providing universal health care to their residents, in addition to 1 federal system providing health coverage to Washington, D.C. and the territories. For the state insurance plans, general guidelines and base coverage are provided by the federal government, with the administration of the programs being determined by the states.

Under the Health Security Act of 1946, all state and federal insurance programs are required to insure "medically necessary" services provided by a hospital or by a licensed practitioner without copayment. States are not required to insure prescription drugs, or "non-essential" services such as dental care or vision, though they may. As of July 2021, 3 states insure prescription drugs, 9 insure dental care, and 28 insure vision care. Territories and districts under the federal program, such as Puerto Rico and D.C., cover vision care.

About 68% of health expenditures in the United States are insured by a Medicare program, with the rest being covered mostly by supplementary private insurance to pay for such things as prescription drugs, glasses, and dental care.

Funding for public healthcare comes from both state and federal governments.

Hugh Abbot (born 11 April 1949) is a British politician who served as Secretary of State for Social Affairs and Citizenship from 2005 to 2008. A member of the Labour Party, he was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Exeter from 1997 to 2015.

Hugh Abbot was born at Middlesex Hospital in Marylebone, London, to Charles Abbot, a physician, and his wife, Elizabeth, a radiographer. He was educated at the independent St Peter's School for Boys in Leeds and later the University of Sussex. He was first elected an MP in 1997 for Exeter.

Abbot was appointed Secretary of State at the Department for Social Affairs after the 2001 election, replacing the sacked Cliff Lawton. After confusion around his initial policy idea, ‘The Snooper Squad’, pressure mounted on him to resign. He was instrumental in the creation of the 2006 Housing Bill but his role in the 2006 Flatgate Scandal undermined this as it was revealed that he had an unoccupied flat in London which he refused to sell to an Asian family.

Abbot is credited with rebranding the department as the Department for Social Affairs and Citizenship, which saw it take on the Immigration portfolio and for integrating special needs children into regular schools. Following Tony Blair’s resignation in 2007, new Prime Minister Tom Davis initially allowed him to stay in his role, however was sacked at the next reshuffle. He stood down as an MP in 2015.

Hugh is married to Kate Abbot and has two young children, Alicia and Charlie. He is a keen reader of the New Statesman. Abbot is a smoker.

Nicola Allison Murray (born 16 May 1964) is a British politician who was previously Leader of the Labour Party and the Leader of the Opposition between 2010 and 2012, resigning after her role in the Tickel inquiry was exposed. She was also briefly Secretary of State for Social Affairs and Citizenship. She served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Dulwich from 2001 to 2015.

Murray was elected to the House of Commons in 2001. Prime Minister Tom Davis appointed her as Secretary of State at the Department for Social Affairs and Citizenship. During her time at the Department she helped promote the Fourth Sector and social mobility. She also saw a massive irretrievable data loss on immigration and an aborted leadership bid

After the Labour Party was defeated at the 2010 general election, Davis resigned as Leader of the Labour Party; in September 2010, Murray was elected on a technicality to replace him. Her brief tenure as Labour leader was characterised by a leftward shift in his party's policies under the "One Nation Labour" branding, and by opposition to the Conservative–Liberal Democrat coalition government's cuts to the public sector. Following the leaking of several humiliating meeting notes and infamously being followed by a man in a pork costume asking her if she was ‘For the Chop?’ pressure mounted for her to resign. After evidence emerged that she had supported various factors which led to the 2012 Tickel Scandal, she resigned and was replaced by Dan Miller. She was defeated in her seat at the 2019 general election.

He is the most recent Labour politician and most recent Scottish politician to hold the office of Prime Minister.

Peter Richard Mannion (born 26 October 1958) is a British politician is a British politician and writer serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since July 2019. Mannion has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Bath since 1979. He has been described as adhering to the ideology of one-nation and liberal conservatism.

Raised in west London, Mannion studied Art History at Cambridge. Shortly after graduating in 1978, he began working for the Conservative Party. Patten was elected Member of Parliament for Bath in 1979. He was appointed as a junior minister at DEFRA by Margaret Thatcher in 1989 as part of her third ministry. On John Major's succession as Prime Minister in 1990, Patten became Secretary of State for Agriculture but was forced to resign after news broke of an affair with an opposition backbench MP.

He was re admitted to the Shadow Cabinet by Iain Duncan Smith and Michael Howard as Shadow Defence Secretary. He unsuccessfully stood for the party leadership in 2005, finishing second behind James Barnes. He was made Shadow Social Affairs Secretary as a result. He was viewed as competent in the role.

When the Conservative Party was returned back to power in 2010, he was appointed Secretary of State for Social Affairs and Citizenship. He faced heavy press pressure following the Tickel Scandal in 2012 and Immigration Scandal in 2014. He was surprisingly kept in the department by Mary Drake following the Brexit Referendum, but following the 2017 snap election was scapegoated and sacked.

He became a heavy critic of Drake and called for her resignation. He stood for party leader again in 2019 and won, easily beating out all other opponents. In the 2019 election, Mannion led the Conservative Party to its biggest parliamentary victory since 1987, winning 43.6% of the vote – the largest share of any party since 1979. The United Kingdom withdrew from the EU under the terms of a revised Brexit withdrawal agreement, entering into a transition period and trade negotiations leading to the EU–UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement. Mannion has led the United Kingdom's ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A minor mistake in Tucker's box. You still have Campbell in there

So a more successful Disney Family resulted on Judy Garland, James Dean and Marilyn Monroe having longer (and I hope happier) lives? I must say this timeline seems quite promising
As of now, it's up to the 1980s but yes. the main idea is what if Disney did better with a side idea of what if some of those who didn't have the best of lives did.
(James Dean, Rock Hudson, Garland Etc) (the timeline is here if anyone's interested:https://www.alternatehistory.com/fo...ple-the-history-of-the-disney-company.510482/)
