Finally someone debunked Montana, and uh, Taiwan is pretty far out there. But you forgot that Laos and Cambodia aren't real.

Rome, but with its claimants
I went with the Ottomans at their hight in the map, but here’s one with all land they controlled:Didn't the Ottomans have some more?
Nice. The onlyother thing I'd mention is if Italy under Mussolini counts, and if the Ottoman protectorates like Morrocco and I think in the Indies or Indian Ocean.I went with the Ottomans at their hight in the map, but here’s one with all land they controlled: View attachment 637088

I think the idea goes back even further, I remember seeing some 1920s maybe poster for the US communist party advocating autonomy for the black beltThe Republic of New Afrika was a proposed African-American ethnostate during the 1960s in that same area as your map.
Indeed, this was my intention behind the map. In this world, every other "successor" to Rome has died out including the dozens of illegitimate successors known on Earth- Malta is the only remnant of the Anatolian branch of Muslim Romes. Similarly, West Rome is split between Jersey, Elba, and a single Croatian island; while East Rome is split between Corfu, a bit of Crimea, and another bit of the Black Sea coast....stand aside, Byzantium and HRE, this is the true successor to rome
