Fair enough, but being Alternate History, I didn't exactly come here expecting realism, did I?
Here is my first submission. It's the Canadian Federation, which is basically a Canadian Version of the European Union, where all provinces and territories have become mostly self-governing and responsible for their own affairs.
As there have really been some companies and groups (e.g. www.wirsindeinvolk.de) promoting a change of the black-red-gold flag of Germany by switching black and blue, I made a flag up. Yet, I added the symbol of the International Paneuropean Union and the "German eagle". I also extended the gold to separate the red stripe. That is, it shows that there is some "diversity" in Germany and yet it's the same. The removed line around the eagle has also been indicates that there are open borders everywhere. Oh my, how many languages mistakes did I make in those sentences?
Not very original but I'd like the colors (originally form flag of short-live quasi state if Lemko-Rusyn Peoples Republic)

Welcome to AH & the Flag thread. As Seagull said above, the "Stars and Stripes" would fly over Mexico, changed only by the number of stars addded. I don't know if the political strategists back developed a plan for how a completely annexed Mexico would be divided into territories/states.

It's a reference to an internet meme which, it appears, has yet to come to AH.com (it's a bit like the "I'm in your 'X', 'Y'ing your 'Z'" meme, only it's "Yo dawg, we heard you like 'X' so we put 'Y' in/on your 'Y' so you can 'Z' while you 'Z'). I was noting how the US flag in the canton has a canton of its own which makes the flag look strange (amongst other things).
The two eagles are of a vastly different quality and style. Neither of them are centred in the middle of the flag. Your attempt at making the Mexican eagle into a bald eagle is very basic and obvious. So... yeah, this flag isn't aesthetically pleasing.
(Note: The above is not meant to be offensive or personally insulting, and you should by no means be discouraged from making further flags because of my criticisms.)
