2018 Presidential Election

It seems likely that Sam Seaborn will be in enviable position, similar to Jed Bartlet, 20 years previously! If it's Alan Duke who's the nominee, then I figure that Seaborn will win in a LBJ sized landslide, if he faces Jasper Irving, we will have a Santos-Vinick type contest. Unless I missed it, where is the Republican party's national convention this cycle? And where will the Democrats host their convention?

Well a lot of people thought Trump couldn't win, either. It will depends if Republican voters are as in as much of an anti-establishment mood after having lost the last election as they were in OTL.

NBS

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to NBS' live coverage of Super Tuesday 2022. Our Coverage begins.... Right Now!!

Tonight, from coast-to-coast, Republican voters are headed to the polls and two candidates are going head-to-head for the soul of the Grand Ole' Party.

"We've tried for years and years and years of establishment politics, and it's only gotten us more godless Liberal Democrats in the White House. God willing, we shall prevail and reclaim America's God-given glory!"

"The American People are tired of extremism. They are tired of political bickering, political correctness and political vitriol. The American People want a leader who will lead. A leader who will bridge America's divide, not deepen it."

While a Third, hopes to squeeze through and bridge the divide.

"I am the only nominee that can united this party, and unite this Country come November"

Tonight, the 2022 hopefuls go heads-to-head in 16 States, including the Delegate-rich states of California and New York

Alan Duke: Looking to expand on his lead and spread his vision for America all the way to the White House

Jasper Irving: Playing the Statesman and Uniting figure, but has he alienated too much of the GOP Base?

Ruth Norton-Stewart: Looking to ride the momentum of her first primary victory and bridge the divide of the party

Or will Charlie Forrester or Robert Royce breakthrough in a stunning upset?

MB:
Alan Duke striking quickly tonight, racking up 187 Delegates to Jasper Irving's 40. Any surprises so far tonight?

WB: Not yet. All 4 of Senator Duke's wins are in deep red states and have huge evangelical bases. These are all states where the GOP is majority Evangelical, and polling numbers have shown that Duke has a huge lead with these voters.

MB: Rachel, which States tonight will be the keys to focus on tonight for each campaign?

RH: For all 3 campaigns, Missouri will be key. It's long been the bellwether state in American politics, and it will be a test for all 3 major candidates tonight. For Irving, it will show just how much ground he can make into Evangelical territory, and for Duke, it will show if he can win moderates. There is an Evangelical base in Missouri, but not enough for Duke to win, even by a slim plurality. And for Senator Norton-Stewart, we will truly see if she can bridge the gap between the two camps.

MB: What are the must win states for Jasper Irving tonight?

WB: Right away, California and New York must win. Senator Irving simply does not have a clear path forward without those two states. New Jersey will also be crucial. While he does have a path forward without it, it will be a tough road ahead.

MB: Rachel, does Ruth Norton-Stewart have a path to victory tonight?

RH: Not outright. But she does have a path forward if she can win enough delegates to perhaps force a brokered convention or maybe even for Jasper Irving from the race, but that it very unlikely at this venture. Her best path forward right now, is, very unfortunately for her, is a 2nd consecutive brokered convention for the GOP, where she could be a likely compromise candidate.

MB: Missouri and New Jersey still close to call, but so is Colorado, a state that polls showed should have been a win for Ruth Norton-Stewart. Warren, in all 3 of these states, why are they still too close to call?

WB: In New Jersey, the numbers are very telling. When NBS asked voters when they made up their minds about who to vote for, more than half of them said it was in the last 10 days. That result is a huge boon to the Norton-Stewart campaign, who have been riding high since her victory in Nevada. In Colorado, we have seen a late surge in support for Alan Duke who is now within Ruth Norton-Stewart's margin of error. It'll be by a squeaker, but Duke could pull off the win there tonight.

MB: Rachel, Missouri, was another state where Senator Norton-Stewart should be winning. What are you hearing as to why it's so close?

RH: In this case, it seems to be a rare occasion of St. Louis having reported earlier than expected. Senator Norton-Stewart is in the lead, but an unexpected surge by Jasper Irving in urban St. Louis has made this race close, for now.

WB: Indeed. It's small, but the St. Louis GOP is lock-step behind Jasper Irving. Any voters they turned out, likely went to Irving. He probably won't win, but he has certainly made a statement in Missouri tonight.

Please standby for another Projection
