Alternate Air Force roundels and other symbols

To complement the Duchy of Grand Fenwick Air Force roundel I've posted earlier (see the previous page), here's the shield of the country's other aerial defence branch :

To finally return to my series on small European nations, here's a roundel for the Aerial Security Unit of the Principality of Monaco (with the basic coat of arms of the ruling Grimaldi dynasty).

Couldn't you make something using the shield pattern instead ? As is, it look way too busy to me for no reasons.

Very nice, but I still say Monaco's roundel should be a Roulette Wheel. Afterall it's the casino that's paying for the aircraft.:D

That's exactly what I've been trying after making this one. But one "diamond" in the middle looked odd and I'm not in the mood to fiddle with all the chequers in the shield right now. But I will give it a try. ;)

Wouldn't it look too much like the dharmacakra (or how's it called) on the Indian flag ?

Alternate Azerbaijan Roundel;

Cool. :) But I've noticed there's a small remnant of the previous background in the lower left corner of the flame.

Ah, did'nt notice that, thanks for point it out.

I would'nt have even had that, but I can't find the SVG version of the flame, so yeah.

A bigger (and hopefully somewhat higher res) remake of my Liechtenstein roundel. Among other small changes, I've made the crown a bit bigger, since in the original it looked like it was insignificant and fading away. I'm sure Prince Hans Adam II would not approve of such a thing... :D

I think you could do without the black outline to the crown, the contrast is good enough. Also, due to its connection to the old austro-hungarian empire, it could use a national insignia inspired by it instead of a round one.

True, though I made it a roundel to go for something specifically different to the usual 19th century/WWI German/Austrian military crosses. Besides, it might get confused with various Swiss aerial insignia.

Speaking of which...

Maybe I could use your symbol for some kind of medical support company of the Liechtenstein Army, once I get to covering that in the not-so-distant future (there's not that much work left to do on the small air forces project, except for maybe Luxembourg). So, I'm sure I'll find a place for it. ;) It does look very good. *imagines "cross-with-crown" on the door of a military ambulance or supply truck*

could be used as an uniform insignia for the unit but probably not on vehicles: only the plain red cross (and a few other symbols) are afforded protection under the geneva convention. The idea is that no one would be able to use the excuse of "I didn't recognise it, sorry for bombing that hospital"

From an ATL where < insert reason > happened resulting in the air force of the former british dominions not adopting roundels reminiscent of the RAF roundel.

Nice and logical. The fern is an apt substitute for the kiwi. I guess the kiwi got excluded due to the connotations with the former dominion ?

Yes, that is unfortunately an issue. A compromise then : Either a shoulder patch or an emblem of one of the LAAC squadrons or flights (besides the two heli types, I'm currently working on two fixed-wing aircraft types to complete my planned Liechtenstein ORBAT).

I like these, especially the New Zealand fern in black and white. However, making them all round still evokes the British roundel, especially in the Canadian insignia (it took me a few minutes to remember that this is not the actual canadian roundel today...it should be).

I guess I kept the shape due to its prevalence. australia seems to give itself to it. Canada would look weird as a triangle though NZ might:

I bring you two alternate Balkenkreuzs, the first one for a sort of 'Compromise' between Conservatives and Liberals in Germany(how this happens is left up to you guys). And the second is one for the German Empire or a standard military regime in Germany.
