Weird Al Yankovic and Kurt Cobain backstage at Alapalooza tour in 1993. Two years later, Yankovic and Cobain would prank audiences at the MTV music awards, with Yankovic coming onstage with Nirvana dressed as Cobain and singing one of their songs until Cobain emerged from backstage.

The ditch known as SUBAREA 010-02 is populated by people who used their words to exploit others' desires and fears — flatterers. As a representation of the lies they told in life, they are drowned in a massive obnoxious flood of excrement (determined through genetic analysis to be from different animals).

1647438309803.jpeg

SUBAREA 010-03 is reserved for simoniacs, those who rewarded church positions and important sacred objects to others in exchange for money. They are placed upside-down in hollow tubes scattered throughout the rock (a perversion of baptismal fonts), with fire burning their feet.

The ditch designated as SUBAREA 010-04 is populated by those who made money off of peddling claims about peoples' futures, including astrologers, fortune tellers, and diviners. As punishment for frauding others by looking into the future, in one of the most ironic displays Inferno has to offer, their heads are twisted backwards so they are only forced to look behind them, and behind them only. Depicted above is a picture of one such Damned, taken at Base-Xibalba, the only outpost in the ditch.

It's time to talk about outposts. Of course, it's tough for living travellers to simply undergo one massive tour through Inferno, so various outposts have been constructed in such positions as to not disrupt the functions of Inferno; violating buildings always crumble within days. One can typically find supplies of food, water, and required equipment for traversing the next landscapes at an outpost.

Menu Screen from the Hitman 2 (2018) Arkham DLC mission. In part due to the partnership between Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment with IO Interactive in publishing Hitman 2, IO was granted permission to craft a single level set in the DC Universe, at Arkham Asylum. Following the release of Hitman III in 2021, however, the level was not included in the full trilogy edition, due to licensing and rights issues. The levels popularity with the player base saw petitions to both IO Interactive and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment to include it. In the Year 2: 2022 Release Outline, IO announced they had secured the DLC for inclusion later on in the year.

The Red Star Rises Once More: Part Two

2003 Time Magazine cover chronicling the surreal summit between Soviet Premier Leonid Brezhnev and U.S. President George W. Bush.

After the re-establishment of ties over the Washington–Moscow Direct Communications Link after having avoided conflict with the West, Soviet Premier Leonid Brezhnev brushed up on world history with the help of the 2002 Russian Embassy staff in Washington. What he discovered was not to his liking; releasing that not a decade after his death the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics would collapse along with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact. Brezhnev decided that this was not allowed to happen and looked at the 2002 People’s Republic of China for inspiration and started to adopt China-style economic reforms, after stifling opposition to said reforms, by the year 2007 these reforms (known as the Brezhnevian Reforms) were doing wonders for the Soviet economy (though the USSR still had a lot of catching up to doing in terms of technology).
This is a good Soviet Union ISOT to the future timeline.

It's excellent! both 1942&46!...are you going to extend to 1950 and beyond?. One thing, in 1950 FIFA decided to "convince" to the european teams to come, that from Brazil 1950 onwards, the world cup would have at least 3 first round matches for every team, to justify the trip to everywhere. Perhaps in this ATL 1942 this could be, or in 1950 ATL. It is really interesting the inclusion of Bohemia&Moravia
Thanks a lot. I love hearing things like this.

I hadn't planned on doing, but you're right in that if the World Cups of the 1940s weren't canceled, the history of the tournament during the 1950s and beyond would undoubtedly be quite affected. It could be interesting to examine that.

SUBAREA 010-05 is populated by the Damned who, in life, mostly used their political power for personal gain or private interests, instead of serving the needs of the people — grafters. They are submerged in a lake of boiling pitch (heated to about 403°C at its highest recorded temperature thus far), and are guarded by the Malebranche, demons who, just like much of the other inhabitants of Inferno, do not really mind living travellers, yet are focused on tormenting the Damned of this area by mutilating them if they rise above the tar's surface.

1647575806314.jpeg

The next subarea, SUBAREA 010-06, is populated by hypocrites, those who criticize others for beliefs or practices they themselves hold. They wear lead robes shaped like a monk's habit; beautiful and shiny (made possibly by a thin layer of what has been identified as gold) on the outside, but uncomfortable on the inside due to their weight. The robes appear to be non-anomalous and are made of non-anomalous materials. Of note is a particular nude body located in one section of the circle, who gets repeatedly trampled on by the other Damned. This has been identified as the Jewish high priest Caiaphas (who persuaded the Pharisees to crucify Jesus for the public good), according to accounts by Virgil and other Guides.

1647576236573.jpeg

SUBAREA 010-07 is populated by thieves who stole from others for their own purposes without a justifiable reason. The Damned in this subarea were first thought to be punished by being constantly attacked by snakes and lizards, but numerous interviews and further exploration have revealed a shocking fate: these snakes and lizards, upon biting a Damned (their bite has no effect on living travellers), will gain their soul, transferring it to the next Damned they bite while gaining that Damned's soul, and so on. Therefore, interviews of the Damned in this subarea have been notoriously difficult to perform, as physical appearance usually never correlates with their soul/identity.

So what's actually the schtick of Inferno? It's clearly medieval Catholic Hell, but there's implications that it isn't really Hell

It's more Dante's Inferno but perhaps as an actual location, either in the Earth, another dimension, or both.

Yeah, I knew it was Dante's version of Hell, with Virgil and all, but what is it actually? There's more to it than meets the eye, and I don't think it's really Hell, or else Protestants and other non-Catholics wouldn't be in Hell (if that was the case, many pre-Catholicism Early Church leaders would be there, too)

Starman: The Animated Series (1994-1999): a high concept musical animated series from the mind of David Bowie and Bruce Timm, which was among the first shows greenlit for MTV.

I'd guess so, but in Catholic tradition to the modern day, they're part of a long line stretching all the way back to Jesus (an example of this being that Peter, one of Jesus's apostles, is considered the first Pope in Catholic canon), so this may be handwaved away by saying that they went to Paradiso? (...which I am also doing after I finish both Inferno and Purgatorio)

The Special Tree was an anomalous entity found in Gotham Woods. It was first seen by Forest Ranger Jason Todd on February 2, 2020 at 7:30 PM and he reported it to the Gotham Police Department and local vigilante Batman. A police perimeter was set up around the entity, and it was analyzed by the Batman, he found out that the elements from the tree’s sample does not seem to match any known element on Earth. Detective Bullock sarcastically remarked that the tree was from the fictional world of Krypton.

At 10:18, S.H.I.E.L.D. agents attempt a hostile takeover of the site, only to be stopped by Batman who negotiated with the agents to have a joint investigation alongside the GPD. At 11:57 PM, the tree started to glow white and bended itself while police, S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents, reporters, and almost of Batman’s Gotham Knights vigilante group retreated to a safe distance. However, Robin Two, AKA Carrie Kelley was contacted by someone or something to stay near the Special Tree. Batman told Robin Two to go back to the safe zone but Kelley, in a state of possession, ignored his order and tried to touch the tree. Luckily, John Constantine arrived at the scene, and he used his magic to snap her out of it, and dragged her to safety the second before midnight.

Soon after, at 12:00 AM, the tree generated electricity out of itself. Some reporters and police officials fled from the scene, who feared for their lives. Then out of nowhere, a male adult and a young girl who were holding hands was seen teleported out of nowhere. The latter person screamed “Help!” and Constantine tried to reach her before she and the male suddenly disappeared. Many things and figures appeared and disappeared during the event, for example, it was reported that a floating muscled man with a red cape resembling the fictional comic book character Superman appeared, and a 40 feet tall slender humanoid with a siren as his head also appeared, nicknamed “Sirenhead” by the Gotham Gazette.

The 2/22/20 Incident eventually ended when the tree amassed so much energy and imploded out of that reality. The Implosion teleported 6 Department of Technology agents, 7 United Zones of America Army officers, and 1 disguised Anti-Device Association spy from the Deanverse to the Neugalam-verse. The Deanverse residents were taken into custody and further questioned on their nature. Two months after the incident, infamous serial killer, the Joker, murdered three Deanverse residents after they were released by the government into the world. He was stopped by Batman before he would kill all of the Deanverse residents. The Special Tree perimeter was turned into a S.H.I.E.L.D. restricted area and GPD and the Gotham Knights were prohibited from entering the area.

Screen test of Tommy Wiseau as The Joker for 2018's The Batman, directed by Ben Affleck. Suggested for the role by Greg Sestero, an actor who Affleck had worked with in Argo and had recently been cast as Hal Jordan in the DCEU. Sestero and Wiseau had been friends for years prior, having worked together on several indie films. Wanting to give his friend his big break, he convinced Affleck to let Wiseau audition. Wiseau surprised Affleck, giving a chaotic performance that landed the part.

Poster for the 1965 AIP film Rapture: Hell Beneath the Waves (also known as Rapture: Fury of the Deep) starring Vincent Price and Telly Savalas. This production early run of the poster is notable for being a collectors item in part due to the misspelling of Savalas as Sevelas, with few extant versions of this run remaining.
