Collaborative Project: Lets Build A Planet (All Welcome)

What shall we name this world?

These are some really big first civilisations.
Note that the expansion here is over hundreds of years. It started out as the dark green dot on the peninsula, expanded and colonized a trade empire in the two lighter green colors, and finally conquered itself an inland empire in the sparsely inhabited north.

Bumping with a timeline of established events:

??? BC - An "empire" begins to form in the southwest quarter of the map.
c. 0 AC - Ecological distaster; collapse of the large "empire" in the southwest.
c. 800 AC - History "restarts", new civilizations begin to pick up the pieces
???? - Eku civilization forms in northeast Oremsey (central continent).
2490 AC - The Deurond Empire was formed as a union of city-states around the Vamoir Sea.
2680 AC - Deurond begins to reach its height.
c. 2800 AC - Deurond begins to weaken.
2989 AC - A rival kingdom conquers the Deurond capital and kills the last emperor.
???? - Novgorod-style trade empire forms on the west coast of the southern continent.
3596 AC - "Present day" (could be changed if people object).

If people want to help out, here are some things that could add to this world:
- Map of where agriculture starts (I'll probably work on this)
- Distribution of different resources (e.g. iron, coal, gold, silk, furs, grapes, etc.)
- More civilizations / lore
- Languages
- Human diversity (skin color, epicanthic folds, maybe even different species of human)
- Flora and fauna
- Flags?
- Writing systems

It's a good start, but I feel like there should be a few smaller families thrown in there (including the Dakipean languages I came up with on page 12), and the borders should be a little more rugged. Other than that, I like that we're seeing more contributions. :)

Here is my first draft of where civilization developed, criticism wanted.

atka cradles.png

A- it didn't seem very fertile, but I figure it could act like a Mexico-expy
B- reminded me of Egypt, plus I already had plans for a civilization here
C- thinking further ahead, civilization could develop here with influence from somewhere else, a bit like the Sahel
E- maybe the origin of that pre-collapse civilization?
G- probably the wettest cradle; lots of rice grown here
H- maybe?
Other: If we wanted an Andes-expy, there are a few mountain ranges where we could put it. I also remember that agriculture developed independently in New Guinea, but it wasn't enough to create a "civilization", so I left the equator alone.

@Chrzęścimir, are you going to create information about the pink language in the northeast ('Proto-Rumaic')? Because I already have plans for the languages in that region, some of which I have previously mentioned.

I'm going to go ahead and post the first couple centuries of Azotse's history. I don't want to get too far without knowing what's happening in other civilizations, but I'd like to get the ball rolling at some point. Instead of making new posts for each part of its history, I'll probably just edit this post.

The Azotse civilization began in the early 10th century AC. Its early history is rather vague, as it lacked a proper writing system, but most historians agree that the city of Othaesa had united many of the city states along the Taahaigo River by 1000 AC. Shortly thereafter, a handful of Fetsa city states downriver broke away and formed their own state, and decades of conflict ensued.

Here we have information. You need more informations ?
Oh. Sorry, I didn't see that before. I've had some ideas about how the Deuras language I mentioned herefloating in my head, but I've been rather busy lately and so haven't written anything down. I think I could make Deuras a descendant of Proto-Rumaic, there's noticeable similarities between their consonant inventories and noun grammar.

I announce my existence!
I've looked through this thread before, but I only actually joined AH.com a few weeks ago.
You'll probably see me on this thread a lot.
Anyways, I like the ideas going around! I specifically like the Deurond Empire. But what nation invaded its capital?
Maybe I'll come up with a civilization for this thread.

Welcome to the thread! It's nice to have somebody new, since things have been going a little slow lately . As for the Deurond Empire, whatever nation invaded it was never specified, so you'd have to ask its creator what they had in mind. Feel free to contribute.

Hi, welcome to ah.com! I'm glad you take interest in my ideas. As for the nation that invaded Deurond, it was just some relatively unimportant petty kingdom that thought that conquering the now greatly weakened Deurond would make them seem more prestigious. Honestly I just threw that part in to finish up the history section. Maybe I'll write more about it later.
