La Serenissima: Venice, Dawn of a New Power 2.0

A timeline that centers in and around the Serene Republic of Venice and written by Franciscus Caesar.

Beginning in the year 1492, the Serene Republic - along with the Ottoman Empire - decides to offer the expelled populations from the Spanish Inquisition refuge from persecution. From this point onward, the decisions of the Venetian Doges and the machinations of the republic's citizens leads to the nation scrambling to gain control of its trade with the wider world, slowly diverging world history as we know it.
