So, suppose that the Almohad Caliphate never manages to conquer North Africa out of the Atlas Mountains, maybe by being defeated by the Almoravids at Marrakech.
What happens next? The Almoravids are still in decline by this period. How does the lack of the Almohads affect the Iberian reconquista?

Obligatory Norman Kingdom of Africa shout out

I mean, I doubt it would last much longer than the Crusader states but it could’ve easily been a much bigger deal than it was IOTL

Important for one, the Maliki Andalusian elite won't be alienated by the North Africans. More unity and so more will to fight together against the Christians in the North.

The Almohads really fcked up the relationship between the North Africans and Andalusians. Even the Almoravids did not do so much damage.

And ofcourse, no Jews and Christians fleeing North to Christian lands.
