After an assassin bombed the Czar's carriage, Alexander got out completely unharmed to attend to a wounded Cossack Escort, and was promptly bombed by another assassin. So, what if Alexander had decided to stay in the carriage, to protect him in case of another bomb? One of his last ideas was to create an elective Parliament, the Duma, but the idea died with him until 1905. Would we see a far more liberal Russia if Alexander does not die then?
