What if: Battle of St Mortimer’s Cross, a Lancastrian Victory

The Battle of St Mortimer’s Cross, is becoming an obsession of mine as of late. The battle, while seemingly insignificant at first glance, could’ve changed the course of the Wars of the Roses forever, had the outcome be different. The result saw the victory of the Yorkists led by Edward of York (later Edward IV) and William Herbert (later the Earl of Pembroke) and the defeat of the Lancastrians led by Jasper and Owen Tudor (who was captured and later executed). But what if St Mortimer’s Cross had been a Lancastrian victory?

Let’s say Jasper’s assault against Edward’s centre isn’t halted or maybe Owen’s attempt at flanking Edward’s forces succeeds? Either way the result is a Lancastrian victory with Edward being killed and Herbert being captured. How does this affect the Wars of the Roses?

The Yorkist claimant is now George of York, who is 13 at the time. If the Second of St Albans occurs as per otl and Warwick is defeated, could we see mass defection to the Lancastrians, or just a severe morale blow for the Yorkists? Would London still refuse to grant the Lancastrians entrance?
